Shepard Smith on Fox News just confirmed that anti-gun MD Gov. Paris Glendening has, by executive order, made illegal ANY discharge of a projectile weapon in four (4) counties around Washington DC.
This ban also includes bow/arrow and muzzloading hunting that are about to come into season, and all practice and recreational shooting.

...that the sniper stands a better chance of being caught in Virginia...I wish I could puff up with pride, but my fellow Virginians got tricked into thinking Governor Warner was a conservative. Amazing. The sniper could probably trick them [especially Northern VA] into thinking that he's just an actor shooting blanks.

How much bow hunting is going on in Maryland Metro areas these days? Where is Trafficant when you need him? Sheesh.

Absolutely not! I say if someone gets a shot at him, take it! And if the Governor wants to prosecute someone for that, well I think we all know better.

The cops in MD could talk the sniper to sleep reading Gov paris' speeches!

Seems to me that an armed citizen would be a good thing right about now, especially if that armed citizen were at the right place at the right time and killed the wanted murderer. Saw someone earlier say this guy is not a "sniper" per se...so far haven't all the victims been pretty stationary targets.

"WHICH FOUR COUNTIES? PLEASE BE SPECIFIC. I live in this area and am all set to hunt on Thursday"As long as you're not hunting for deer in gas stations, Michael's parking lots, auto dealer parking lots, Slow Zones on the sidewalks in front of middle schools or Home Depot parking lots, you're probably OK...

Hey, ya'all just move along. The second ammendment only gives the right to keep arms. It' didn't say you had the right to shoot them. (/sarcasm)

This is comparable to the law that forbids English from being spoken or that requires motorists to have a watchman walking in front of the car flashing a light and sounding a horn to warn horsemen.
Anyone who thinks the War on Terrorism isn't a boon to the NRA is off with Gore in la-la land.
The only people with a realistic hope of taking the sniper team down are private citizens first, and patrolmen second.

O.K., let me get this straight. If I were to take my revolver up to Montgomery Co., MD and shoot the sniper as he is drawing a bead on a new victim... I am going to get arrested.
Every time I wonder if the Liberals have hit rock bottom, I get a new surprise.
As I was explaining to my Sunday school class this last Sunday, it really does matter where this guy (these guys?) get caught. I feel much better about the courts here in Virginia.

THIS MAKES PERFECT SENSE.
SINCE THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES HAVE ASKED THE PENTAGON FOR SENSOR EQUIPMENT, THIS ORDER WOULD ALLOW THEM TO ISOLATE ANY GUN DISCHARGES WHILE THEY ARE USING THE SENSORS - AND THEREBY ISOLATE THE SNIPER.
To: texson66
You're kidding! I thought those were prime hunting spots! Silly me! If these areas are so urban and there is no hunting taking place there, why would hunters be objecting? Why would anyone object? I mean, what reasons would there be for discharging a firearm in that area anyway?
And don't give me the whole self-defenses, defense. I understand that and I'm sure the governor does, too.
To: Mo1
Of course, if the sniper goes after the Governor, that might be another matter.
There'd likely be a good many disarmed citizens in the state who'd see that possibility as an interesting turn of events.

Well see this way if somone happens to see the sniper and they are armed if they shoot and kill the sniper they can be prosecuted to the fullest extent of liberal law will allow Although the person will be a hero they will still do hard time for the crime of killing a killer !
