Shepard Smith on Fox News just confirmed that anti-gun MD Gov. Paris Glendening has, by executive order, made illegal ANY discharge of a projectile weapon in four (4) counties around Washington DC.
This ban also includes bow/arrow and muzzloading hunting that are about to come into season, and all practice and recreational shooting.

I agree that a lot of people would feel a lot of fear right now if they hear hunters out shooting. Even in the woods, the sound carries. Hysteria could escalate to the point that hunters could be shot at. This ban must end ASAP. At the same time, this could be a dangerous precedent. This is an excuse. Banning bows showed what the governor is really thinking. He doesn't like weapons period. Liberal beaurocrats could ban shooting at the drop of a hat every time someone is wanted somewhere. If the governor came out strong that he considers his state to be a war zone, that is another matter.

Oh, good move, That'll show 'em. They'll for sure obey the law, won't they? < /sarcasm >

This effort is a major step forward. It's about time something heroic was done to stop this sniper nonsense. This will surely stop all homicides in PG county, also. Thank the Lord we have more cheese.
Please add 10 yards for piling on.

Apparently this little turd isn't up for re-election this November.
Why do 'RAT governors have such wierd first names? Paris Glendenning, Gray Davis?
Thanks for not posting his picture ... our stomachs might not be able to take it. I'm still recovering from a "Caption This" thread of Gray-out Davis.

The Governor should vow to pardon anyone who shoots at the sniper or any other criminal, at least for now [I'd wish from now on]. That would clear this mess up. The Gov. made the mess. The Gov. needs to clean it up.

"I would disagree with banning bow hunting."The sniper has injured two and killed at least 8 with a BOW AND ARROW?? Hey, bud...what about that "Loose Lipe Sink Ships" warning on the "Post Reply" page??? You obviously know a crucial piece of info that we don't...WE'VE been led to believe he shot his victims...
...Unless you're worried that he shot a .223 caliber bullet out of a bow...
Trolling thread hijacker alert!!!

So, without declaring a State of Emergency, Glendening is unilaterally denying Maryland citizens the Right of Self-Defense?
Incredible. I imagine people are lining up to be first in court to challenge this, right?
To: DCBryan1
Ludicrous!!!Oh and this will stop the killer...how assinine!
While he is at it why does he not issue a restraining order and ban of all white/beige cargo and astro vans?

Not only that, they should get a ticker tape parade in their honor, and, of course, the reward money!

More and more replies that I see here on FR make me wonder if most of the population is retarded.
No one imagines that this will stop the attacks. It has the logical purpose of working to prevent false alarms caused by hunters/target shooter whose shots are heard by a nearby citizen.
If YOU were in the area and YOU heard a single shot, would YOU try to drag the police out to investigate it?

Yeah right! And the pentagon has requested that nobody sneezes or turns their tv up too loud. Also no Harley's will be permitted as they confuse those super duper tin foil noise probes. No farting either.

Yeah, that the purpose.

Er, cake... I think you did something I do now and then. TbV wants to keep bow shooting legal. We have to shoot the sniper with something after all. I sure don't want to use a sling shot on him. I guess a bow will do.... =]

"...MD Gov. Paris Glendening has, by executive order, made illegal ANY discharge of a projectile weapon in four (4) counties around Washington DC..." LOL!
What will he do for an encore... Tour the morgues and raise the dead?

If your VA cops need a witness to say he pulled on them, I'll fly right up.

SILLY SILLY!
This is not intended to stop the sniper... It is intended to eliminate other types of gunfire that would only create false alarm and wasted time right now when everyone is listening for the next hit. I think they just want to know that if they hear gunfire, its a bad guy, for awhile. While I would make sure to press for a sunset to this, but there are a lot of city ordinances that make it illegal to shoot within certain boundaries, and none of them make it unlawful to shoot in self-defense...
Will everyone just sit down?
