SILLY SILLY!
This is not intended to stop the sniper... It is intended to eliminate other types of gunfire that would only create false alarm and wasted time right now when everyone is listening for the next hit. I think they just want to know that if they hear gunfire, its a bad guy, for awhile. While I would make sure to press for a sunset to this, but there are a lot of city ordinances that make it illegal to shoot within certain boundaries, and none of them make it unlawful to shoot in self-defense...
Will everyone just sit down?

I understand the logic of false alarms. But there are several problems:
1. How many bans are outside of town and city limits?
2. How many bans were made without due process? This is an executive order.
3. If we aren't allowed to shoot the sniper with bows and arrows, are spit wads allowed?
4. Why doesn't the governor vow to pardon anyone using a gun to stop a criminal, in particular the sniper?

Gunfire like that produced by a bow and arrow?
Are the police being sent off on many wild goose chases right now? I see no evidence of that whatsoever. I have seen one case where they were called and it turned out to be nothing- but it wasn't a valid gunshot that was reported, it was a completely made up situation to begin with.
