CNN Headline News is reporting that a woman has been shot near a Home Depot in Falls Church, VA, and that authorities are investigating whether this is another sniper attack.

Tonight ABC did a one hr 20/20 Special on the shootings and aired it earlier than usual. I guess it would have ended at 9pm EDT.

I guess the Marine in Baltimore has mixed feelings about this one, if it's the same gun. He's gotta be happy the real sniper didn't let them chase him for awhile. Something is truly bizarre about all this. It's surreal.

The FBI is in the Barnes & Noble Book Store interrogating or interviewing the employees. They aren't allowed to leave Barnes & Noble. Brian Wilson said "interrogating", not me. Single shot. Next few minutes there will be a briefing by the Fairfax County Police. Here we go again. It appears that even though we are against a culture of death, death we have. That's pretty darned specific. Does this mean that the LEOs are in hot pursuit and may actually catch him tonight? Is chase being filmed OJ style? Hard to keep up from the left coast, thanks for up-to-date details.

That's a detailed description for a change. I hope it's accurate and not a decoy vehicle. I don't think this is a copy cat shooting. But, it could depend upon who the female victim is, rest her soul.

That's why the similar 5.56mm NATO round in our M16s required several shots in Somalia to down a target. Bowden talks about this extensively in Black Hawk Down.

Unfortunately, BlackHawk Down only adds to the ignorance and confusion in this case. That was using unusual bullets in an unusual rifle configuration (tungsten bullets out of very short barrels). Normal loadings out of normal rifles do not exhibit this behavior at all. As has been pointed out many times, 9mm exhibits a greater tendency to overpenetrate than .223.

There is a pattern to the time of the shootings now. Since last Monday the one Bowie, MD was in the morning, the one in Mannasa, VA was on Wednesday night, the in Spotslyvania, VA was Friday morning, and then there is tonight's in Falls Church.

If the sniper holds to pattern look for another shooting on Wenesday morning. As to the location maybe another freeper can make an educated guess.

We have a serial killer down here who supposedly drives a white chevy truck,,you would be shocked to know that every other car here is just that,,we are all driving around looking at literally hundreds of them. Vans that are white must be the same kind of thing.
