CNN Headline News is reporting that a woman has been shot near a Home Depot in Falls Church, VA, and that authorities are investigating whether this is another sniper attack.

I'm in Falls Church and my wife just went out shopping, so this thread gave me a nasty jolt.

It probably depends on the type of bullet. A hollow point would be quite deadly at the intermediate ranges the sniper is probably shooting from.

As for the weapon itself, I'll go against the law-enforcement grain and guess that it's a scoped bolt-action rifle.

Bloody Heck! My wife and I were at that store last weekend and I was thinking of going there today to pick up a faucet. Route 50 at the 7 corners area is a broad, massively busy street. I don't see how anyone could shoot from around there unseen.

A friend listening to local news said the shooting happened in an underground garage. If anyone's in the area, they can probably confirm or discount.

It's very dense suburbia, more like the locations of the original night and day of multiple shootings....not as near rural areas as the Fredericksburg and Prince William shootings.

Also, it's mathematically impossible for there NOT to be a white van seen in the area. Actually, probably a dozen or so white vans..ENORMOUS amounts of traffic and a bajillion roads.

The Home Depot is in the Seven Corners area of Falls Church. As the name suggests, he has lots of exits, as usual. About 3 miles from me. Scary stuff.
