CNN Headline News is reporting that a woman has been shot near a Home Depot in Falls Church, VA, and that authorities are investigating whether this is another sniper attack.

Perhaps the simple answer to that is economic disruption. One of the things radical Islam is attempting to do is take down our economic power -- to the level the playing field. The economy runs on normalcy - or the appearance thereof, even if things truly aren't normal (Clinton cooked the books for two years, all lies, yet everyone boomed on without noticing).

Well, I have no doubt that an appearance of normalcy is being attempted these days. But it may get to the point where we will all finally realize that things will never be normal again. I frankly can't see the end of this in my lifetime. Normalcy would be nice, but reality will set in someday.

I agree with your analysis implying that the shooter was gone from the area by the time the police set up roadblocks.

Columbus Day, not much traffic, Pentagon is 15 minutes away. Also E on 50 is easier than W on 50 because major roads are overpasses instead of intersections. Also E on 50 is against traffic flow although 9PM is past rush in any case.

This is the second time I have gone past a shooting site prior to shooting (last time 30 min, this time 2 hours). I wish I had a dashboard camera.

Only if the projectile tumbles before it hits the target.

That is why the mountain rifles in the revoulutionary war gave out boys an advantage over the british with their (unrifled) muskets

Rifling, and centrifugal spin of the projectile, forces the projectile to travel straighter, whereas if it tumbles it can go anywhere depending on what axis it decides to tumble on
