CNN Headline News is reporting that a woman has been shot near a Home Depot in Falls Church, VA, and that authorities are investigating whether this is another sniper attack.

The "secret" is in the rifling. The more "twist" for a given distance through the barrel, the faster the spin upon exit through the muzzle (and better stabilization). I'm not a bulletsmith, but I think there's a point of diminishing returns where the twist ratio is concerned.

I wish, just for a minute, they would turn the cameras around and show us if there is a lot of activity across the hwy in that 'dark area' they described earlier. It would tell us a lot if they are concentrating their search over there. I do remember someone on the scene at the Micheal's shooting (where the woman was shot) say that they heard police saying the shot came from across the highway.

Kim...our prayers are with him...cannot imagine how difficult it must be for that husband.
Fox News (Brian Wilson) is reporting that this painful situation may have some benefit to capturing this evil doer...since he was a witness to the murder, the husband can (is?) providing valuable details re: ID of murderer...

The President was here in Sarasota, FL. Laura Bush was with Teddy Kennedy in the Senate. She was going to give an education speech to congress. Dubya was reading to a class of grade schoolers. He wasn't at the White House but it was evacuated.
They did target Air Force One which is why he two other locations for awhile that I won't say here.
They didn't want him to return to D.C. but he insisted. I can see why they are blocking off more streets around the White House.

If it is, the person I think might be involved lives .9 miles from this shooting. I wonder if him or his wife used to work there?
With such a close proximity to the shooting I guess the police were willing to listen to what I had to say.
No wonder stopping the highways didn't work as well as them shooting so late at night.

Incorrect, as a cop I can tell you St. Michael is the patron saint of police. The movie "Untouchables" made the same mistake by saying St. Jude.

Given the various shades and degrees of lighting in the Seven Corners shopping center areas, that "white male" description may more likely mean caucasian, which would include males of Middle Eastern, Hispanic, European or even "south Asian" (Pakistani, Indian, etc.) ethnicity. And no, I'm NOT implying that this has anything to do with international terrorism.

Great -- my mom lives in Arlington. And my dad lives in Alexandria, which is in Fairfax Co., but is an incorporated city and probably has its own police force.
