ANNOUNCING: THE PATRIOTS RALLY FOR AMERICA II, OCTOBER 26 IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
D.C. Chapter ^ | Monday, October 14, 2002 | Kristinn

Posted on 10/14/2002 6:23:11 AM PDT by kristinn

The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic invites all FReepers and lurkers in good standing, as well as their friends and families, to join us in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, October 26, 2002 for the Patriots Rally for America II.

As the United States prepares to take the next step in the war on terrorism, we will be gathering to show support for our troops, America and to serve as a patriotic counter-point to the anti-American leftists who will be holding an "anti-war" rally and march the same day in D.C.

The "anti-war" rally, organized by International ANSWER, will be held right next to the Vietnam War Memorial on the Mall at Constitution Gardens, a safe four blocks away from our rally site at the Washington Monument.

The Patriots Rally for America will feature speakers and recorded music. Supporters are encouraged to bring large American and Gadsden flags. Also, please bring signs bearing messages supporting America, our troops and the war on terrorism.

The anti-American left will be fearmongering that day; raising their tired old cliches of quagmires, body bags and blood for oil. Their real message is that America is an evil nation and should not defend itself against any threats.

They dream of re-living the glory days of the Sixties, when spitting on soldiers and burning the flag were 'cool.'

While we respect their First Amendment rights to speak out (indeed, several of our members fought to protect those rights), we vehemently disagree with their message and will not allow them to take to the streets unanswered.

Members of the D.C. Chapter are financing the Patriots Rally for America, but we could use some help. We have pared back our budget for this rally to around $4,000 compared to the $7,000 we spent on last April's Patriots Rally.

The cost for staging, sound and porta-potties will be around $3,500. We are budgeting $500 for incidental costs.

If you would like to help, please click this link.

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for demonstrating will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no racism, no profanity, no threats, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

When: Saturday, October 26, 2002 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., rain or shine.

Where: The Washington Monument at the corner of 17th Street and Constitution Avenue, NW.

Will be a bit late on Saturday.

Roger, Rodger.
Sorry, I always wanted to say that

Going to help the America-haters with some flyers explaining how they can renounce their U.S. citizenship.

Great flyer! Will you be printing them on pink paper? We'll see you Saturday!

I too, am going to be there on 10/26 with my daughter.
We are coming in by Amtrak and staying in a hotel close by.

I have also invested considerable time and money to do so and I am doing so gladly for the same reasons as you.

We must do this to counteract the America-haters.

I hope you guys have a great rally--as good as the impeachment rally, a few years back, on Halloween. Sorry I can't go to this one.

I might be able to come, but I do not know when and where our football game will be played. This weekend we played 90 miles away from our school at 1 pm on Saturday and every day is a different day so who knows....

oh I was quoted in the newspaper about the football game, but it was the wrong newspaper, the compost

Is there a get-together, after?
Larry and I will arrive late in the afternoon of the 26th, for a few day's stay(reservations were made before I knew about the Rally).

Current weather report for Saturday: high of 68, low of 48, sunny with a few clouds. We'll need fall coats, but nothing out of the ordinary.

If you don't mind, Id like to add your event on the FReePWatch Board. Let me know and I will post a first cut and we can flesh it out.

Im pounding the threads the next couple of weeks thru the election letting FReePers know where they can be heard and make a difference.

Also, Any NJ or other state's voters who would like to get on the FReePWatch Board, let me know. I will try and have thread links built later on.

Thanks for the forecast info... I think.

DC Chapter is well known for having the "weather gods" smile on us when we're in action. (We've also been known to get spanked for using the term "weather gods." I think I'm more at risk for saying that than of getting rain-and-winded on this Saturday.

If it rains on us, it's also gonna rain on the commies; and we're much hardier than they are! We won't melt. :-)

Until last week I had a backpack that was filled with every conceivable thing that one could ever need on a FReep, including inexpensive pocket-size rain ponchos - but it was stolen when my truck was broken into. I just found another package of ponchos that I had stowed elsewhere, so at least 4 of us will be dry if it rains. :-) I still have to replace the other stuff; most pressing item is a staple gun, so I will have to stop at Home Depot this week.

Enough of my rambling on... thanks for the weather heads-up. We're hardy folk and I don't think anyone's gonna cancel their trips just because of a chance of rain. If they do, they're wimps, and BufordP will have to taunt them.
;-)

Arrive earlier and join us at the Rally, please.

There probably will be a get-together afterwards -- there usually is, and we usually go to Luigi's. This crowd likes to get together and get social after we have been political! LOL!

kristinn, we gonna retire to Luigi's after we FReep the Communist Creeps?

Thanks for the ping. Unfortunately it's being held the same day I hold my annual "surprise birthday party" but I'll be there in spirit. With KLT attending, NY will be well represented. Hopefully we will meet in the not too distant future.

BUMP!

I haven't thought that far ahead. Luigi's sounds good. I'll check tomorrow to see if they have room for us.

"I base my call for ugly rainy, COLD weather on the Canadian, European, Navy, and UK models...which are all in agreement that there's trouble a-brewin."

LOL -- well, now, I see the problem right away. You're using SCIENCE.

Let us repeat: the weather will be perfect. Repeat after me: The weather will be perfect.

Do join us. No matter how perfectly cold it may be, and I do not think it will be anything other than beautiful, we'll get a nice warm plate of Italian food at Luigi's afterwards.
