[history]
Democrats these days love to remind anyone who'll listen that only two presidents since the Civil War have picked up seats in Congress in midterm elections: Franklin Roosevelt in 1934 and Bill Clinton in 1998. Historically, they explain, voters blame the party of the president for any problems that have arisen over the previous 24 months.

For pubbies (and I'm one, BTW) to take control of the Seante and keep the HOuse, republican voters will have to exercise their sovereign DUTY and VOTE.
We have seen what the despotic democrats want to do to the SCOTUS (make it into an extension of the party just as they have the NJSC) and only control over the U.S.Senate will change the degenerate path our legal environment has taken under democrat control. [May I remind everyone that sinkEmperor clintoon fired the vast majority of federal prosecutors and loaded the offices with complicit democrat shills, thus insuring his henchpeople of special treatment when indicted or pursued.]
This mid-term election is absolutely about whom will be seated on the Supreme Court in the next few years. Do conservatives want more of Ginsberg and the other 'activist' judges? NO, but to prevent such these conservatives MUST vote the rat despots out of office.
You will read, over and over, the mantra of democrats 'protecting a woman's right to choose'. WE must finish the specious sentence and point out that a right to hire a serial killer to murder the unborn is hardly a good thing for women or the Republic. We will read that the democrats want to protect social security, implying (but mostly asserting) that republicans don't want to protect social security. Such LIES must be met with facts and these facts must be administered person to person, conservative to democrat auto voters whom we all know, at work, at home, and at play.
This mid-term election is possibly even more crucial to the future of this Republic than the 2000 election was. Can anyone even imagine how screwed we'd be if goreghoul had won in 2000? we must get Daschle out of his despotic RULE over the Senate, to rid our nation of the corrosive socialist like Leahy and Biden and clinton and Harkin and Wellstone and Boxer and ... well, you all know the usual culprits who champion serial killing of the unborn and block even a floor vote on judgeships of less liberal people.

Conservatives on the court are reluctant to leave, fearing it would result in a left-leaning bench. But if Bush can get his appointees confirmed by the Senate, they might feel comfortable in stepping down. This would push the High Court even further to the right. How does it push SCOTUS "even farther to the right" (as if it were already right) if conservative justices retire and are replaced with conservative justices?? Besides, I'm not so sure Bush would nominate people I would consider conservative.

There's still a few weeks to go, so things could change. But it looks hopeful at the moment.
It's very important that everyone should get out and vote. And it's also important that no one should waste their votes this year on third-party candidates. There's too much at stake, especially judicial appointments.

I thought it amusing that the dems held their long-awaited economic summit on one of the most bullish days of the year. While they were busy whining about the economy, the market was rising -- almost certainly because of the war resolution.

Things are so tight this year that any close races could easily be decided by some of those strange coincidences that often accompany Democrat victories:
- lost ballot boxes
- unusual numbers of spoiled ballots
- duplicate votes being cast
- votes cast by people not living in the precinct, or not living at all
If you're a Republican and you live in a district where the election might be close you should contact your local Republican party (go here for more information) to see how you can be a poll monitor and make sure the election is 100% clean.

AMEN! THE FATE OF OUR COUNTRY BEING TURNED OVER TO LEFTIST COMMUNISTS THUGS IS RIDING ON THIS ELECTION. OUR FATE IS AT STAKE. VOTE AND TAKE ALONG A FRIEND OR TWO!

One big reason for our counter-intuitive conclusion is that the Republicans have a highly successful dirty-tricks squad assisting their cause -- the Democrats themselves. By demanding that Bush take Iraq to Congress, a losing issue for the Democrats, they have now become the Stupid Party.

and don't forget the need to extend voting hours for only the most democrat precincts.

Amen. Remember, we don't just have to outnumber the democRAT voters. We have to outnumber the dead voters, illegal alien voters and convicted felon voters, not to mention the democRATs who vote in multiple precincts.

If anyone has the courage to read BREAKDOWN, by Gertz, there will be NO democrats left in the house or the senate and Bill Clinton, Sander Berger, William Cohen, will be in jail where they belong for the rest of their lives.

If we take both Houses of Congress and Chaffee doesn't pull a Jeffords, I'll donate $100 to FR and dance like a chicken in class.
Of course I desperately WANT it to happen, but I just don't see the Dems failing to cheat enough to prevent it.

Interesting article... However the author did not do himself any favors by claiming that it was three Demo senators who went on the foolish trip to Iraq
A recent trip by three Senate liberals to Baghdad turned into a public-relations nightmare for the Democrats, leaving voters with the impression that the party is divided on the issue of war and soft on terrorists.

I would love to see Mary Landrieu booted out of the Senate

laissez les bons temps roulez!

I'd laugh if this weren't true!

Franklin Roosevelt in 1934 and Bill Clinton in 1998. Actually in 1994 (Clinton's first midterm election) Republican's managed to take BOTH houses away from the Democrats.

I like Barrons and hope they are correct with their prognostications re a double Pubbie win. Get out the conservative voters by any means and defeat the RATS! They constantly prove how depraved and unethical they are. We must defeat them!
