Possibly the mall might have a night club that stays open late

Yeah, ours too. Just didn't think of that at the time.

Armed Gunman Seen in Woods Near Mall

More newsworthy would be to see a gunman who was not armed.

I saw a TV crew from Philly in the Home Depot parking lot on Shady Grove Road in Gaithersburg around 9:00 PM. That is less than five minutes from the mall. I wonder if the media will get an interview with the sniper before the police catch him. Maybe they should just go back to the station and watch the tube.

Anybody know what's on the other side of the woods?

There are some clumps of White Pine trees at the far end of the paking lot that would give excellent coverage - but I really can't think of 'woods' as in forest. The area totally developed and only 2 minutes away from I270 ...

LOL! Better safe than sorry....

You know everyone in the region ought to come out tomorrow morning with rifles in hand and side arms strapped on. After all, people would at least feel safer..Hehehe...And who knows, someone may get lucky and get off a few rounds at sniper guy, and maybe even hit him, next time he strikes.

I just saw a fat drunk driving an Oldsmobile of a bridge in Martha's Vineyard, and, wait a minute... what year is this?

Oh, never mind.

Everyone with a knapsack is gonna be a suspect?

I certainly hope not but the good people of the greater DC Metro Area will be sitting on pins and needles until the Assassin is captured or killed.

Talking at work about him the other day. Whatever happened to him? Did he retire or is he a pitching coach somewhere. The man had talent. It was amazing to just watch him throw his glove on after the pitch

"I call those 'sleeves', not arms"

So you've got an sleeved man in your closet?

Is an unarmed gunman someone who shoots with his feet?

Sure isn't much 'woods' there is there? Though I suppose there is enough because it is dark out.

What's at the bottom left and right in the second image?

When Teddy performed a pre-emptive strike on that river, it was like Pearl Harbor all over again. I bet his liver looks like a pumice rock. He's got so few brain cells left, that his cerebral and autonomic functions have to time share. When he tries to do math, he probably craps himself.

He retired in 2000. It was so cool to watch him field a ball.

DC has a lot of parks in and around. Some of them are open for hunting.

I'll have to see if I can zoom out some more, the grid splits the mall in half so we'll see. There really is not a whole lot of shrubbery in the area. Due north is a fire station, due west on the other side of that pond is a traffic light and an office building (Kaiser building, I think) and beyond that, another shopping center then the fairgrounds and I-270.
