This Guy Must Be Ex-Military

Posted on 10/11/2002 1:54:26 PM PDT by GulliverSwift

This guy must be ex-military. Look at his skill in slipping away, only trained snipers can do that.

The most recent shooting in Virginia happened when he shot the guy with a police officer 50 yards away. Dang, how do you slip away from that?

That's one of the things they know how to do, not only shoot the guy, but slip away with skill.

Either that or these Washington-area police are complete bafoons, which I'm willing to accept. All looking for a white van, even though there are so many white vans out there you could count 30 easily if you stand by the road.

Maybe it's time to call out the civilian "militia." ;-)

"I think you are 100% right."

Hey, I was joking about THAT. See the smiley/wink ;-) above. However seriously, I do think that our best "homeland security" against terrorism AND crime, is a well armed populace, unencumbered by gun controls laws.

Assuming of course that it was "His Brass". I have not heard anything to suggest that the brass recovered was from the actual weapon used to shoot the 13 year old.

I dunno, maybe my tin foil hat is loose and I see more than is actually there. This person may be just playing games with the authorities and planted the brass to tweak them.

We are talking an area of 10's of thousands of square miles here. How many special ops guys are you suggesting? Plus, unlike the sniper, whom most likely is in place only for a few minutes before firing, these guys would have to lay in wait for days, without the press, or the neighborhood kids running across them.

Agreed- I wouldn't discount disinformation from the police, a random finding of brass unrelated to the sniper, or a plant.

Or a test run, by foreign types, just to see how effective it would be. I'll say it looks pretty damn effective from Connecticut.

I don't live in greater DC, but my brother lives in Manasas, just a mile from Wensdays shooting, talked with him tonight and he says that people are terrified. His neighbor told him that thier 3 kids are staying home from school Tuesday if the guy is not caught.

Like hired by the leftest in this country or the un to bring about more gun control. Ever take notice the lack of school shootings since billy boy left office.

You're right on the strong correlation between the cessation of school shootings and Willie the Weasel's departure. Wonder why Harold Raines's pack of muck rakers haven't picked up on it? This 'sniper' stuff has a definate air of a Bob "the Jackal" Beckel politically motivated wet job. The RAT pols (Kennedy klan) are already running hit pieces on the NRA and Republicans in Maryland--almost like they had footage ready to roll and were waiting for this to happen. Wonder why Willie and Hillie haven't chimed in yet? This could be the work of the same Arkancide crew that took out key witnesses like Ron Brown and Vinnie Foster.

Here is another thought. Everyone is assuming these are random hits. Maybe not. One of the methods used to get away from pursuit is to start out fast, turn the corner, then just sit down and let the pursuer run right on by you. (They think you are moving fast)

What if the sniper and his truck are in a garage someplace a few blocks from the hit, waiting for the pursuit to run on by? If it was planned in advance, it might have just been set up like that.

This now impresses me as something more like a "military excercize" rather than a nut case with a gun.

I hope someone from the military is at least on the case. These are skills and abilities that some in our military establish have in spades. The "understand sniper", and should be consulted.

No no. The pattern is the thing. A trained counter sniper team operating in methodical fashion can get into this head and "be" at the same place he is eventually.

I don't think tooling around in squad cars looking for "perps" is going to do it. They need some "trackers'.

Not neccessarily.

I was a pretty good shot as a boy, before I ever enlisted. And jumping in a vehicle and getting on a freeway takes little skill.

He could be ex-military but I will bet that he is a wannabe.

I think you're both 100% right. Does that mean calling out the milita is 200% right? ;)

Oh my !
I don't know where to start !

1. The situations presented suggest:

A. The perp(s) are using a vehicle to approach victims;
B. Victims are being shot at VERY close range.

2. The use of weapons from vehicles

A. Is called " Drive By Shooting "
B. Is endemic in the Capitol District
C. Usually involves teens or young adults
D. Has been known to involve use of rifles :

(1) Ak-47's
(2) Colt/clones

In other words, we're talking minimum skill, apparently random shootings : probably being carried out by a pair of losers, who may have some sort of agenda,or who may have decided this is a "way cool" thing to do.

If they don't have an agenda-other than seeking some sort of psycho-sexual thrill - I would guess they are unemployed drop-outs, who are using PCP or " Boat"-plus an assortment of pills to bring them down long enough to function.

They'll have extensive ( but sealed ) juvenile histories, and, should they be captured alive, we will be told they are "Victims" of ________________ (Fill in your choice of popular social evils.)

"Dang, how do you slip away from that?"

The police officer runs towards the victim and the shooter steps into his vehicle which is just a few yards away and then he drives off...

I seem to remember when Charles Whitman climbed the UT tower in Austin, men went home and got their hunting rifles.

They didn't need the government(police) to protect them.

By the By...there's a plethora of books on the open market for learning how to mask your weapons discharge. It would seem rather easy to get away with quite a bit silenced.

They need to find out where he'll strike next
Knowing where he'll be seems to be the problem

I say multiple snipers lets take him out

This would really screw up civilian law enforcement. How could you tell "good" snipers from "bad" snipers?

You could have the equivalent of Identification Friend or Foe, i.e., a password or the like.

Trouble is, I suspect these guys have been being tipped off from the inside. They could be tipped off on the password too.
