This Guy Must Be Ex-Military

This guy must be ex-military. Look at his skill in slipping away, only trained snipers can do that.

The most recent shooting in Virginia happened when he shot the guy with a police officer 50 yards away. Dang, how do you slip away from that?

That's one of the things they know how to do, not only shoot the guy, but slip away with skill.

Either that or these Washington-area police are complete bafoons, which I'm willing to accept. All looking for a white van, even though there are so many white vans out there you could count 30 easily if you stand by the road.

A hit at 100 yards through a scope? Doesn't sound like a world-class sniper to me. Elmer Fudd could get hits under those circumstances.

Regarding the cop, he is a cop, not Sherlock Holmes. He was writing an accident report, not looking for a sniper.

Could be. After all, the Al Qaeda/Taliban fighters, including Osama Bin Laden, got their first set of .50 calibar sniper rifles compliments of the U.S. government way back in the 1980s.

If there's two, a shooter and a driver as suspected, then getting away wouldn't be all that hard. There's major highways just seconds from where many of the shootings have taken place. It would be nothing to get on an entry ramp and be out of the area is minutes.

Though strangely, I think people find it comforting...the idea that that someone with a limited amount of practice with an inexpensive, commonly avaliable rife could do this is far more terrifying than the idea that it's some highly-trained supersniper.

I would submit that this guy has mostly stricken people who were either fueling their cars or soon to be entering one to travel.  Perhaps this means nothing.  I will submit that he has also stricken people at seven different name brand gas stations.

Then consider this.  He stated that, "I am God."  Gotta tell ya, if you think like an eco freak, that could mean that he is acting as God's hand, desiminating justice as if by His will.

Just think what these users of carbon emitting vehicles are doing to mother nature!  Have they been judged and found wanting?  If so, expect this guy to get the same treatment as the Uni-Bomber.  Oh he's a poor fellow who meant well.  We can't give him the McVeigh treatment...

No, it could be anybody. Anyone with minimal rifle skills can hit a human-sized target at 100 yds and getting away is no more complicated than driving off. 1000 yds, that's definitely military or a very well-trained shooter. A tenth of that, my little sister could do it. (No offense, sis...oh heck, I'd better start watching the bushes now...)

It could be kids (young adults), like the Columbine killers, who may be into video games or Dungeons and Dragons or crazy music. Or he may be a terrorist. Don't put too much stock in the escapes of this killer. The same thing was said by instant "experts" about Andrew Cunanan, the master criminal who killed Versace and several other people and left clues all over the place when he did so. Cunanan's "brilliance" included stealing a red pickup truck with NJ Park Service emblazoned on the door (he killed the park worker to get it) and parking it openly in Miami Beach for several months before he used his "criminal brilliance" to shoot Versace in public view. A lot of catching criminals depends on where the police are at the time the crime is committed and what they notice. The particular brazeness of the horrible criminals here may actually aid their escape.

Just because the policman was only 50 feet from the victim, doesn't mean the sniper was anywhere near that close to the policeman. He could have been 200-300 yards in the opposite direction.

I agree! Remember those Al-Q tapes CNN showed of their training abilities? And also I heard that some Arabs had signed up or paid huge amount of money to be trained by some ex-green baret soldiers...I think you call them missioneries...any way it's a private and very exclusive training club and they teach you all the technics for survival and teach how to use high power guns etc. They charge in the thousands! I hope I'm wrong though...:(

Probably not. While some .50's were sent to the Afhgans fighting the Soviets, the Talibunnys weren't a big part of that, nor was OBL. They hung around and picked up the pieces after the Soviets left and the various factions had at each other. Very much like the Bolsheviks or ChiComs under Mao, husband your forces, let somebody else do the real fighting, and then take over from them by taking advantage of their weakened condition.

That's the whole point. He's in their face, taunting them, showing that they cannot protect people.
