Just think: Israellis go through this every single day. And in their case the killer doesn't care if he dies himself. Cross that, he wants to die. Talk about leaving in fear.Excellent point. I have thought about this continually. What the Israellis go through every single day. I think they have excercised great restraint and I doubt American citizens would live under similar circumstances for such a length of time.

I agree. Fox has gotten very slow with their breaking news stories. They never interrupt their regular programing and I end up having to watch CNN and MSNBC for info. They interrupted Brit Hume's show in the 10:00pm PDT hour last night to report the Senate's live vote and broke the story of the resolution passing before CNN and MSNBC even noticed.

CNN repports no shots fired on school grounds, but maybe somewhere else. oribably dove hunters. We have deer season in in Indiana. It sounds like a war zone around my house. I live in the country and have deer around all the time. CNN needs to be responsible people in DC/MD/VA areas don't need to get worked up (including me) over false reports.

"Why is FOX always late on breaking news?"
CNN is a MUCH larger network with probably thousands more employees. Fox depends on their local affiliates for breaking news.

Police say no evidence.........reported on Fox

Fox got completely destroyed on the SCOTUS decision in the Florida recount...they had two idiotic women prattling for 1/2 an hour about it being a victory for Al Gore, while at the same time Brian Williams on NBC (regardless of what you think of him or what his political orientation is, he's a VERY smart person and probably the most intelligent of the network talking heads) VERY quickly figured out it was a clear victory for Bush.
Fox has had the worst problem with bad or unconfirmed info in breaking news situations, as best I can tell. Which is unfortunate.

Maybe, but when the Trade Towers were hit, Fox read their report of a small plane..., I changed to CNN and they were already on the scene with video streaming...Fox headquarters out of NY and CNN out of ATlanta, if they get beat in their own backyard, what is the deal? CNN has 70+ active bureaus worldwide, including New York.

You dont have to have a towel on your head to be a terrorist. This person has shut down schools malls and other public places as a result of the killings. This is terrorism for sure.

Police still can't find anything. Shep Smith, Fox News, said it was 'apparently a false alarm.'

Not last night. Fox cut to the Senate voting live and made the call as soon as 51 yes votes were announced. CNN, MSNBC and others were still on their primetime re-runs... I am not surprised CNN dragged their feet reporting the senate vote, I somehow don't think it was lack of footage.

Just as last Fall where you had a "white powder" scare every few hours or so, you're going to see gunshot scares and a FR thread on it every few hours or so, now. Firecrackers, Backfires, etc.

he said that the reports of multiple suspects make him feel as though the possiblity of terrorists should not be eliminated. That possibility should never have been eliminated. It should have been at the forefront from the beginning -- especially since we are at war and all of this is going on around the capitol

Geraldo is in the area and will get the smipperyeah...but the sniper will still be on the loose....

For some wierd reason I can't see this as being a middle eastern terrorist. I still think it is a homegrown killer with a partner or partners. We've had serial snipers in this country before but they don't happen that often so we tend to forget about them over the years. But then again I could be entirely wrong.
To: bonesmccoy
"If this ain't terrorism, what the hell is the definition of the word?" The debate on FR is not about whether or not they're terrorists: they are obviously terrorizing the area. The debate is about whether or not they are homegrown or ME terrorists.

Teh 15-year-old was shot once. Early breaking news reports ALWAYS contain incorrect information as events move too rapidly for the media to filter information. What's truly lousy is when the media continues to put out incorrect info after they get the facts.
