You could see a lot of civilians getting whacked once the shooting war starts in Iraq. I am convinced the perp is a soldier for the enemy and I am equally convinced we will drive ourselves NUTS if the Freep board becomes a KIA counter.

Actually why they cannot confirm it a convience store clerk told someone from the press that a shot that occured at his store was a single shot that went in through a window but missed everyone. Although can be absoultely confirmed it had the same MO as the sniper.

Their morning show sucks, too. I have never heard more inane morning chatter than that on Fox & Friends.

I applaud your staunch defense of FOXNews on their breaking news abilities. I second you. I'm a news junkie, tvs in every room...and everytime a story breaks on either MSNBC, CNN, or FOXNews, I always flip to the other two to see if they have it too. Most of the time, since 9-11, FOXNews is the first. They are especially good on breaking news from Florida, the White HOuse, the Capital, the Pentagon, and Los Angeles car chases. CNN might get the overseas breaking stories first, but they don't always get them right. FOX and MSNBC are great on breaking news from Israel. When CNN was the only game in town, we had no idea what we were missing...now we do.

FOX RULES

smip, smippy, smipper....I'm still lovin' it....although we need to come up with a good, solid FR definition.

(yes, tom....I'm leaving...I'm leaving...but an addict is an addict...and I needed a quick fix before I left ;) )

I may have to oppugn (a Word of the Day I've been abusing) smip...but I'll work on a meaning before I do. Otherwise, we'll have to smip it in the bub.

starts to remind one of the OKC debate. What do you think?

Hven't been able to catch up yet, so it might be irrelevant by now, but here's my take on it:

What happened today was very significant and tells us much more about the perps and their abilities. For some reason, a letter some radio talk show host read on his show a few days ago keeps coming to mind tonight: he (Michael Savage?) was talking about some Neo Nazi organization that sent a letter to Saddam telling him they supported him and would do something spectacular to show their support.

I didn't pay much attention at the time, but with everything that happened today (the extreme level of organization, skill and apparent guerilla warfare training) it came back to me.

Anybody else remember the show? Can anybody remind me the content of the letter? I'm pretty sure it contained direct threats against Americans at home...

MICHAEL SAVAGE ARE YOU LURKING???

Hoax? Please explain that.

That was added later by the admin after it was determined that no shots were fired at this school.

"...give me 20 of the snipers in my unit and they'll take him out in a minute."

I'm a bit disappointed with Col' Hackworth's Faux Bravado here...it ain't about not being able to shoot the guys, it's about being able to find the guys!!

I took typing in high school so that I could meet girls. It was a different time.

I didn't meet any girls.

True.. Too many places to stake out. It would take a brigade of countersnipers to cover the area, and if the sniper spotted another sniper, he'd just move out another 50 miles. Not a practical solution. But then, I don't know the tricks of the trade. I think you'd have to think like a sniper to figure out where you would have to be to get a clean shot , set up without much chance of detection, and a clean getaway. Seems to me that would be the first consideration for this shooter, and the victims are opportunity targets in the wrong place at the wrong time. Five different brand gas stations might be a clue. I'd at least stake out at a station selling a brand that hasn't been hit yet. FReegards -- Dave

Ahh...kindred spirits-

I took typing in high school so that I could meet girls

I took [wood]shop in high school so that I'd meet guys.
Imagine my chagrin when I discovered that only girls and 'nerdy' boys were in the class.

All of the 'cute' boys were taking HomeEc...

In hopes of meeting girls.
