Please understand that the following information is unreliable (friend of a friend) but I want to know if anyone else heard about an earlier incident in Manassas yesterday.

Did anyone hear about a police situation in the afternoon yesterday (hours before the shooting) on route 234 bypass (west of 234 where the shooting took place)? 2 dozen cruisers and helicopter apprehending several vehicles.

Again, this is from a friend of a friend, it might only be a rumor the guy picked up or it might be coincidence.

It's on another thread. Someone is trying to spread a rumor that FR was mentioned at the press conference. Probably a trouble maker at DU who's jealous because they aren't trying to be part of the solution over there, just part of the problem.

I think you are talking about the window of a delivery truck was shot out by birdshot on Wednesday on the Rt. 234 bypass. It was opening day of dove and duck season - or is that dive and duck?

I have been talking to them regularly since this started. One sis is staying in at night with my niece (she is working the tiplines today so she is pretty aware) and the other sis, while I'm sure is cautious is more resigned ("if it happens I won't feel it).

It would cause people to drive out of their way, looping around the closed road. Not a big problem unless there's a concert at the nissan pavalion.

So they didn't really secure anything? Close but not quite?

They did not secure the area to capture the criminal(s). Too late for that. They secured a wide area around the crime scene to examine the scene and locate any evidence before it disappeared. That's why they closed the Rt 234.

Something I have been wondering aout all week. A little off subject but, I wonder why Bill O'Rielly has not said one single word about THE biggest story that has hit the news since 9/11. I mean he has not even mentioned it once that I have heard, unless I missed one night and I don't think that is likley since Fox is on in my house 24/7.Would there be a reason he is avoiding this story.

Something else for Michael's. They had a lawsuit filed against them in CA. Reached a financial settlement in February of 2002. There is a press release on their website. I tried searches, but couldn't find out what the suit was about.

Also one of their subsidiaries, Aaron Brothers... their website has a link to Isuzu Trucks. That boxy white truck originally mentioned. (but maybe it was mistaken for the white van?)

Shep on the fox news network said they (police or fox?) have more information about the minivan/occupants but they are not going to release it.

You're absolutely correct about the "facts" that you and I know not to be true, and that we should be skeptical about relying on the media to educate us on things not in our expertise. I don't even turn the news on anymore.
I did hear they were now looking for a female but that's all they said. I don't know as a witness or what. They probably have that screwed up also.
