SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (AP) - Charles Savoca was looking forward to ridding his house of termites, but he didn't realize the whole house would be gone as well.
Exterminators accidentally blew up Savoca's house Monday while using "thermagation" - an alternative to fumigation - to get rid of termites and ants.

Sometimes the cure is worse than the problem, e.g., Jimmy Carter slowing down inflation in the late 70's by raising the prime interest to 20%.

Yeah, but the termites are likely dead.

I prefer my termites fried in coconut oil, much more of a nutty crunchy texture. Not sure if I would liked them baked, even with a nice sweet and sour sauce or a good bottle of chiati to wash them down with.

I assume this method appeals to people who prefer not to use pesticides.

Same thing happened in Torrance, CA earlier this year...
House blew up, and blew out windows in houses two blocks away.
Maybe they should substitute poison for the nitro...just a thought.

Yep. Another Earth Firster house gone.

A raging inferno took five air tankers, three helicopters and dozens of firefighters two hours That's one heckuva fire, must have lit up half a block or so if it required Air Support. sheesh.

I have to ask . . .
What the heck is that?

What the heck is that? According to my internet documentation, the guy on the right is an EOD fellow defusing a bomb. The guy on the left's a bastard.
That's a paper bag in his hand he's about to pop...

Charcoal is better than propane.

Wouldn't this be "Hold muh 'roach'" instead? Especially considering it is Santa Cruz after all. :)

You are correct. Plus charcoal is a renewable energy source. All you have to do is cut down some old growth forests to make more charcoal.

He sure is.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. A house, not the House. I thought from the title that the article was talking about the House of Representatives finally getting fumigated.
To: hoosierskypilot
But...something went wrong. First one, and then four or five other propane tanks blew up from the heat.
A clear winner for the
Understatment of the Day
Award!

I have heard of other cases where someone exceeded the recommended limits for bug bombs, setting off as many as 30 in a small house or apartment. When the pilot light on the water heater set off the fumes, BOOM!
