So what would they do if you named your kid 'God?' or are their laws governing baby naming?
To: chance33_98
Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane) named her son God.

He must be a white guy - if he was from the 'hood, it would be "I Is Who I Is".

I like the name: Who's On First. Then I'd have my wife named: What's on Second.

Man Changes Name To 'I Am Who I Am' He changed his name to Popeye????
To: chance33_98
It was William Jefferson Clinton, I'd bet.

... are their laws governing baby naming? None that I'm aware of in this country, though changing your name for fraudulent purposes is illegal.
In European countries there is a tradition of only registering approved names. France, for example, only allowed saints' names to be used. They must be making some accomodation for all the Muslims living there now. But they still wouldn't allow a kid to be named 'Moon Unit' or 'Dweezil.'

Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane) named her son God. With a small "g" for humility.

HE could just move to Mexico and change his name to Jesus?
To: blam
I may be wrong, but I think that name wasn't officially registered.
People in California were always trying to name their kids "God." Either that, or they were trying to name them various obscenties, believe it or not.
The state had a few words that could not be registered as legal names because giving such names to a child would have constituted mental cruelty (to the child).

A new mother at our hospital was asked the name of her baby girl. She replied, "Famolly." When asked where she got this name she said, " It was listed right on the pink card, she was already named Famolly".
(The pink card said FEMALE SMITH.)

So how would being called God make his spirit return?
Me's hopes this guy I am gets a name and prescription change from placebo to PROZAC.

He said it will read, "'Charles Walter Haffey, born Sept. 23, 1948, and died Oct. 21, 1968, Republic of Vietnam."Sounds like a convenient story, coming out as we debate war with Iraq. I'd almost bet he was on a lefty's payroll.

ROTFL! This really isn't funny, so why am I laughing? I guess because although he obviously has that PTSS from Nam which is terrible, he is also obviously a democrat from Florida.
