After the SCOTUS refused to hear the case, and the passage of the patriots act I have decided I can no longer take the pledge of allegience. "........and to the Republic for which it stands" IMHO, we now have the beginnings of a neo-fascist state, not a republic.

If elected, Lautenburg will "retire" and the Governor will appoint another Dem to take his place. We need to spread the word to the networks -- I want someone to ASK him on camera if thats his "scheme"
New Jersey voters have a right to know -- will you serve your term if elected?

New Jersey voters have a right to know -- will you serve your term if elected? Torchberg: I cannot tell a truth, so yes.

<< ABOLISH THE SCOTUS >>
The traitor, Roosefelt, already did that, back in the 30s.

"New Jersey voters have a right to know -- will you serve your term if elected?" Probably depends on whether the Lout can rake off as much of the "vig" as the Torch!

Unfortunately, that's not how he's running though.
The radio ads I'm hearing from him only hit this point in passing (something like "While every day seems to bring new dramatic changes from the Democratic party, I've never changed my reason for running.")
He then hits his bullet points:
* Work with President Bush to fight terror
* Vigorously enforce our environmental laws (huh?)
* Work HARD to ensure our seniors can get access to affordable prescriptions by expanding Medicare (huh??)
* Work TIRELESSLY to pass the law that is apparently being bandied about in the Congress to guarantee by law that no Social Security Benefits will ever be cut. (huh???)
So all in all, his ads sound like they would work equally well for Lautenberg or any other Democrat that decided to run in times like these.
But I guess that is what it will take for a Republican to win here in New Jersey. It saddens me greatly, and I'm not sure what can be done about it any more.
The problem with this strategy is that it is almost as cynical about the voters as the Democrat plan is. It assumes that the voters won't know the difference between the two parties as long as they get their goodies. But the voters can tell the difference between them. Those that are only in it for the goodies decide that they might as well go for authenticity and vote for the generic Democrat as long as it's not Torricelli.

In the past NJ Republicans have declined to expose the left-wing record of Senator Lautenberg. I am afraid that exposure of this record now would be meaningless. The people would forget the exposure before the time comes to go to the polls. They are just voting the straight Democrat ticket in NJ, as members of "the democracy" do now in so many states. I haven't heard a peep out of Trent Lott on this. Also, I have not heard if Trent will reorganize the Senate in the outside chance that Talent wins in MO. Will Trent push to have Talent take his seat on Nov. 6?
To: Theodore R.
Outside chance? Is there current polling information that shows Talent behind that is outside of the margin of error? Or are you resigned to the fact that massive voter fraud will tilt an otherwise close win for Talent into Carnahan's favor?

Drag your grandma's out to vote up there. LOL !! In fine and honorable DIMocRATic tradition, of course.
I bet HE didn't have any voter problems in
Florida with partially punched ballot chads.

Along with "I support President Bush in his fight against terror", that's pretty much the way his ads I've heard the past couple of days are going. Oh, he didn't mention abortion, but I think that was more from trying not to offend his base than it was to try to pick up more "independents", though I might be wrong on this one. It's been a carefully avoided topic all the way around it seems. But then, that is political life in NJ.

hmmmmm,.. maybe an old switcheroo at the next Presidential Election? Boy, the DIMS are set on destroying EVERYTHING legal and decent in this country. Amazing...
I never thought of the point you made (I hope I read you right), but it makes one ponder.

Good grief!! Did Whitman pick people to LEGISLATE or interpret the Law? Un friggin believable!!
To: billbears
They were voting for a Senator of their state. The only citizens that would be affected were those of that state. Then unless you're from South Dakota, I don't expect to hear any complaints from you about how Daschel is affecting you.

Hey, I'm not picky, I may vote a few times for good measure, even the vote fraud up a bit.

RE: 352
Whitman sure packed the SCONJ with conservatives!

Wasn't Charles Lautenberg the guy that flew the Spirit Of New Jersey across the Hudson River? Nah. That was George Washington. He landed in Trenton.

Would that be sweet or what! Talk about justice. Oh for it to be so.

Hmm. Looks like 2006-2007 are critical years for the NJ Supreme court. I think the next Governor's race is going to be a critical one for this state.
I think the Republican Party had better start campaigning against McGreevey right now and keep hammering his totally non-sensical arguments home from now until the next election in 2005! He should never be allowed to hear the end of this!

Fantastic material on first blush, Congressman. Bookmarked for proper, considered, review. Thank you very much.
