You've got a point there.

Really? I had no idea.

Canonization is infallible so no saint can be "de-sainted." Not much is known about St. Christopher and the number of possible feast days on a calendar is limited, so at around the time of the second Vatican Council St. Christopher's feast day was bumped off the calendar for another saint.

"Isn't a .223 exactly what you describe, a varmit round capable of doing a lot of damage?

The exit hole of a .223 is pretty bad.

You are correct..his MO has changed in part. You've convinced me that it's possible since some of his MO has changed, that maybe his future attacks may not be spaced apart like they were.

"I think that these guys are just following instructions to do whatever they can to disrupt American life. "
Do you mean all of his followers or just the current snipers/terrorists?

I know many folks will hate to hear this, but I'd say it's time to start detaining/deporting foreign nationals.

No offense here...I LOVE that idea...should've been done a year ago.

***.22's are good up to a mile. ***

They are dangerous up to a mile, but I can't make a consitant shot further out than 200 yards with one. You might be able to take a 1 mile shot with a .50 BMG. :) 22's loose a ton of energy beyond 100 yards, but you can shoot further than that. From the description of the wounds, it's probably not a .22 lr. Even if it was at point blank range it isn't likely to do that much damage.

An earlier incident of some type in Texas involved a Michaels. It's up higher on this thread. They spilled out of a van and prayed or celebrated outside of a Michaels in TX.

Is it the story here? No reference to Michael’s, though:

”Two Somali men, Ismael Abdi Hassan and Ahmed Shueib Yusuf, stopped their rental vehicle on November 26, 2001 to kneel in a parking lot and pray in Texas City, Texas. Responding to a call by a "nervous bystander" who reported "suspicious activity," Texas City police approached the men and subsequently arrested them after a search of their car uncovered a knife and a driver's license that appeared to have been altered.”

Footnote:

"When the police searched Hassan and Yusuf's truck they found a knife with a blade measuring a quarter inch more than Texas law allows. Yusuf was charged with possession of an illegal weapon. Reportedly, Hassan gave the police officers a driver's license on which the photograph appeared to have been burned, and where the height and weight listed far exceeded his. Hassan, who later presented a valid Texas identification card, was charged with possessing an altered driver's license. They were reportedly released on bail the next day. Kevin Moran, "Praying Muslims find selves in jail: 2 face charges over license, knife," Houston Chronicle, November 29, 2001; and "Two Muslims Arrested for Suspicious Activity," Associated Press, November 29, 2001.”

I can't find the original AP story.

Sounds like his guardian didn't hear gunshot? Noticed child was slumped over first and then heard shot? Confusing.

I saw that remark about the man mowing the lawn, also. I think that it was speculated to be an exit wound. They said that the man was most likely shot in the back.

I wouldn't be so quick to double up in laughter at a possible Michael's connection.

Michaels was the first target, and a repeat target. If there is one nearby the school, it may have a tangential relationship AT LEAST to what is going on, and possibly more.

The shooter(s) may be a disgruntled former employee. Or maybe its a delivery person that is simply familiar with where the Michaels stores are up that way. Or maybe it's an islamonut who picked a business owned by Jews. It may be a fellow with paranoid delusions about the name of the store being linked to some grand plan for him.

Someone suggested earlier that the shootings might have stopped over the weekend, because the killer has access to the company van/truck only on weekdays.

Maybe this guy makes deliveries to Michaels, or did at some time in the past. And it's a target rich environment...
