The exit hole of a .223 is pretty bad.

The first experience I had with a .223, was watching it being fired into a 1ft by 1ft block of modeling clay (far more dense than human tissue).

You could see a very clear quarter inch entry hole on the front.

Turning the block around... the entire back was missing.

More than half the volume of the block was ejected.
