Good recap and interesting conclusions - My guess is if two are involved it is much more likely to be terrorists. American nuts like to do things by themselves. The one shot is the key here. First shot gets people looking around, second would give away his position. BTW Pray for the 13 year old kid fighting for his life.

You can't really, except to stay home. Not feasable. Many people refer to crimes like these as being "random", and it is my belief that very few crimes are "random". The victims are chosen for some reason, (such as in the ACE rule). This is why women are very often victims of crimes..."easy targets"--unarmed, vunerable and seen as being weak. Which is why I encourage all women to minimize risks and get training.

With these MD shootings, as long as the perp(s) have A.C.E. no one is "safe". By the way...A.C.E. is what they teach parents to help them protect their kids from predators. Parents are told to reduce access and cover..in other words....watch your kids and don't let them play in area's where you can't see them and others CAN.

I don't know why you're mentioning Whitman in this until we know for sure what the distance is. Whitman shot from distance and this killer was so close to the person at the car wash that a witness thought the vacuum bag blew up when they heard the gunshot.

Why haven't we heard from the White House yet??

They are likely figuring what defensive measures should be set up and whether the National Guard should be used. Many of us look to this President as a comforter in these times as the leader of our great nation. I know I do and pray for God to keep him safe as I wish for all of us.

I'm sure everyone is very concerned for the Pres and Cheney that a "sniper" will try to get one off at one of them. They really hate him for doing more than slap UBL on the wrist.

Regardless, the less publicity the snipers receive, the better. Don't forget, Usama had a party set up to view the events which were about to occur on 9-11. His soul must be black!! Such evil!!

Come on... lets get serius! It takes them 2-3 minutes to get into the vehicle. I've measured it in Montgomery County (personal calls, heart attack and auto injury) and it varies from 10 minutes at best to >30 minutes. It took 30 minutes for this to even hit the news

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Montgomery County, Maryland is the most socialist county in the country? They can't do anything efficiently - so it's no surprise EMS sucks too.

An exit wound that size from 75 yards is a strong indicator that this is no .22 rimfire - not even a .22 magnum would blow that sized chunk out of a kid at that range.

This has to be at least a .223 Remington / 5.56MM NATO round or something else in that class, consistant with previous attacks.
The caliber is the same, but there is a huge difference in velocity; a .22 long-rifle rimfire bullet will be going about 8-900 FPS, while the .223 will be cranking over 3000 FPS out of the muzzle. A lot of people are killed with .22's, but they don't blow a pound of blood and meat out the other side like this!
