I've been thinking about the victims and how random the shooting have been.
I then realized that the victim all have one thing in common. They have few, if any, people around them for witnesses. These people were picked because they were relatively alone.

And sheriff Moose's last employer was Vera Katz, too. I'll be very surprised if this isn't a well thought out plan unfolding. The only question is what the plan is - general terror or maybe misdirection in building up to something else.

Here's a sick thought: suppose the shooter got his idea from Eastwood's latest, Blood Work?

I tend to lean toward more modern ballistics. When I note FMJ, these are ones that go through telephone poles, even with out being AP designated. As you and others noted, military stuff does not suite civilian firearms well. One that wants to shoot with accuracy would not choose military ball, and neither do I. Yes, I roll my own and use a chronograph and ballistic tables to help in my choices of loads and projectiles for each suited need.

There seems to be only one block of Ponds St. It's on the edge of the Kenilworth park on the Anacostia River.

And, like a number of these shootings, it's near a border between jurisdictions. It's just two or three blocks from the border between D.C. and PG County. It's also right off a highway (Rte. 295) that I think must pass close to Bowie.

Anybody know what time of day this latest shooting occurred?

I'm not suggesting teens. I used Harris and Klebold only as an example of how two nutjobs could work together on this.

Those two also demonstrated that being "trained killers" is not a requirement for carrying out a pretty thorough plan: being "willing killers" is more than enough, especially if they had a working knowledge of firearms.

I can't understand the questions the reporters are asking at the press conference...all I can hear are the answers...it's like listening to a person talking on the phone: you only hear one side of the conversation.

The book is well researched and provides information on a level I've never heard discussed so thoroughly. The author has known it would come to this for some time, but Clinton's FBI were told to focus on CD piracy, Microsoft and white supremists, rather than Islamic extremists here in this country. I get tired of typing Islamic extremist terrorists (it's hard to type!), but if we just say terrorists some people seem to want further clarification whether we're talking about homegrown or international. All of it is terrifying, etc., you know the arguments. But let's put forward initials or go with Grampa Dave's Islamakazis.
