You forgot the BARF alert.

At the last minute, you can switch out any Democratic candidate with a chimpanzee and the chimp would pull ahead in the polls.

It may be spiteful, but here is the scenario I'd love to see.
One week before the election, Lautenberg is 10 percent ahead, the Democrats are laughing up their sleeves that they managed to pull of their scam and then.....
The Supreme Court orders Lautenberg taken off the ballot!

Saw Forrester on Fox this a.m.
Not too impressive. He seemed nervous and unsure of himself, in my opinion. I wanted to be impressed. It sickens me to say, but I don't think he'll win, if Lutenberg is a sweet smooth talker.
I think GOP candidates, especially Senators, need to be formally coached on public speaking skills. They are desperatly lacking.

The democrats can run a dead guy and will win. They did that already. The democrats can run a dead woman and win. They will do that this November. The democrats can run a stuffed animal...and win. Remember, most democrats vote the "anybody but the republican" approach. It really doesn't matter who is running on the democratic ticket at any given time. Just that there is a name, any name, on the ballot listed as democrat. That's who they'll vote for.

I think Republicans should be hammering home the concerns about his senility everyday on the tube and demanding an independent medical evaluation of him be done -- and the results released -- before the election.
How in the world does it serve this country to have a senile, vegetative senator in office?
To: lonestar
I think the better question is "what is the average IQ of the independent voter."
I think this sheds any doubt that those who claim themselves to be independent are nothing more than a bunch of ignorant morons

Amazing the NJ electorate can fall for such a blatant BS move on the part of the 'rats. I have faith, though, just like the perversion of the Oval Office by Impeached42: this
will come back to bite the 'rats. They will rue the day this happened.
And, like the Taliban, they will be tossed onto history's trash heap of discarded lies. I saw the light and came out of the dependence party. Others will too. I am a
Recovering_Democrat.

If the US SC does not issue an injunction reversing the NJ SC by 1 p.m. on Monday, it is not going to do so at all. That does not mean, however, that the review of the NJ decision is over. If the Court does not issue an injunction, I expect it to announce that it IS taking the case and will issue a fully-briefed, fully-argued decision AFTER the election.
That announcement should be a warning that the NJ SC was wrong. I expect the vote on the merits of the case (but not on the injunction) to be at least 7-2 against the NJ SC, or possibly 9-0 (as was the first US SC decision against Fla. in 2000).
