Osama, the dead guy the Arab world keeps trying to tell us is still alive, is from Yemen. Yep, he sure is. And you can bet he is dead. The last time his voice was heard was last November during the Tora Bora bombing. They picked his voice up on some radio signal intercept by Allied forces. If he were alive, we would have heard from him. He has a big ego and is an "in your face" personality. Al-Qaeda still hasn't released "the video" that was supposed to come out a couple of months ago. That's because they don't have one.

"The French should ask themselves what they did to be so hated."
Yes. Afterall they did bring it on themselves.

At least when the French surrendered they did so to a formidable military force. We on the other hand have surrendered our southern border to an invading force of unarmed civiliansBut without the undocumented workers we wouldn't be able to produce wines that are equalled only by the FRENCH....

That's a good or bad thing...?

[Yemeni officials say they do not consider the blast an act of sabotage..."The oil tanker was rammed by a small boat stuffed with explosives," }
Of course it wasn't an act of sabotage! The poor skipper was merely LOST as he sped about in his small boat stuffed with explosives. He ACCIDENTLY rammed into the 1,000 ft long oil tanker, which he failed to see, setting off the explosives.
[The tanker was coming into the port to load up with crude oil when the blaze started.]
Great tactics. Strike the target BEFORE it loads up on crude. Morons.

What the heck are they in such a hurry to deny this is like the Cole? They know who did it already, and aren't saying? Idiots. It is exactly the same tactic.....a small boat approaching a HUGE boat and an explosion occurs. Arabs = Liars

I don't know how to erase the caption in a JPEG, but I'm SURE this is Osama Bin RINGO, and NOT Elvis Bin Laden

Friendly fire? Capitan to Cook: "Jon-Brousseau, eef I teeell you once I teeell a thousand times -- NO DUCK FLAMBE' EEES TO BE SEERVED ON BOARD ZEEES TANKER!"
To: blam
Yup. Those are the 'atomic bombs' of tankers. LNG tankers are extremely dangerous because if one explodes it will do it with the force of a tactical nuclear warhead. It'll be the equivalent of a 5-6 kT nuclear explosion--and will blow out windows several miles away from the explosion. (The Texas City, TX explosion of 1947 would be a minor experience in comparison.) That's why when a tanker truck carrying liquified petroleum gas gets in an accident the evacuation radius is almost a mile from the accident site.

If this was Al-Qeda, they are truly stupid. A FRENCH oil tanker??? Talk about wasting ammunition!Too difficult to get close to the good guy's tankers.
To an Islamist terrorist, they all look alike!
lol

The last two Hurricanes have shut down the Gulf of Mexico oil production (and natural gas) as well as unloading of tankers from the New Orleans superport.
Additionally, refineries along the Gulf Coast had to shut down.
This means higher gasoline/oil prices, especially with the prospect of war with Iraq.
This incident will send oil prices higher...

Yes, but they are still drawing up the papers for their formal surrender to Yemen.

Because they don't want the U.S. on them. Better - oh far better - to claim this is just an accident which sometimes happens when small boats laden with explosives run into larger boats.
Of course, this is the French - no worry that anything will be done about it.

This just in... the French are quoted as saying:I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper!...... I fart in your general direction! . Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!
To: MissAmericanPie
Very good point. Maybe they should quit harassing other nations with their armies trying to win freedom for them.

The dems have sunk to a new low. This was postedin a thread at DU about the tanker explosion:
How convenient any bets Emperor * uses it in the speech he's reading tomorrow night? Any bets that he tries to connect the dots to Saddam on this one?
These idiots think the POTUS is behind this too.

Yemeni officials attributed the blaze to a leak from the tanker's load of crude oil Not the usual oil leak. When the TransAlaska pipeline was shot, 1/4 million gallons of crude sprayed out. The leak was plugged and most of the oil was recovered. When the Exxon tanker went onto the rocks in the Gulf of Alaska, millions of gallons leaked out. How often does an oil leak ignite? This is most unusual.
