Emotional problems are equally common among husbands and wives, new research shows, a finding that challenges the feminist belief that marriage makes men happier but women more miserable.

The results of the largest study to investigate the question were published in the Australian journal Family Matters.

Thanks for your posts. I don't know your age, but you have a good sense of logic. I believe Thomas Jefferson said that "Its a poor mind that can not think of more than one way to spell a word." I like to use that quote quite a bit. I was married for 18 years, and firmly believed that I would never get divorced. Finally, the cost just became too great. I am now happier than I think I ever was married, even though the cost in pain and time was very high.

By the way, I looked at the way the courts treated men in a divorce, and convinced my wife that neither of us would us attorneys. I agreed to let her decide the split of possesions. I made objections to a couple of points, we worked it out, and my ex and I are pretty good friends today.

I can see how marriage works very well for a large number of people, but as they say, make very, very sure that it is the right choice.

As it sits the Websters dictionary is, has been for a long time, and will continue to be for the foreseeable future, the definition of the English language. Languages are dynamic. That's no excuse for using it poorly. Eventually, maybe, if our society continues to mass produce idiots, "irregardless" will be a word (though it will still be a redundant word since it's common usage has the same meaning as "regardless") much as how "whom" is going the way of the dodo bird (kind of mixed on that one, I like the usage, but it's a terrible word to try to say, too many soft consonants with no glotal stops to help the word begin and end). But until that day comes it's not a word and its use makes one appear rather dimwitted.

Of course I'll admit that "irregardless" irritates me more than other nonsense words because it's one I used and worked hard to train myself out of (never have been good at that no ending preposition thing, though more recent style guides have been calling that rule into question). That training includes teaching yourself to have annoying mental tick when you see or hear the "word".

Now any remotely sane individual would read these rants and basically saying all women are whore, tramps, sluts and disease culture farms. If that's NOT what you meant then spit out what you do mean.
