[history]
Emotional problems are equally common among husbands and wives, new research shows, a finding that challenges the feminist belief that marriage makes men happier but women more miserable.
The results of the largest study to investigate the question were published in the Australian journal Family Matters.

How 'bout FreeperPETathon II?
FreeperPETathon was so cool that I'll donate $5 for FreeperPet pix from those Freepers who missed the first PETathon, up to a total of $50.
Participation is limited to the next nine (libertygirl is #1) Freepers who didn't participate in the first PETathon. $5 is per Freeper, not per picture (sorry, I wish it could be more!). Please make sure to post your reply to me so that it will be easier for me to find the pictures!
I have to leave for the evening, but will be back tomorrow.

Why in the world would a guy want to get married these days. Girls say yes before you even get their last names, seems that in this relaxed day and age, a scratch behind the ear, a pat on the head and a "good girl" will get you well past third base and home plate and into some pretty exortic things.

It benefits women more because once youmarry the divorce laws are so favorable to women shes got you by the ba***.

As much as you rant and rave against marriage, you must have trouble attracting women. If you don't, with an attitude like yours, all you can get are high school girls who think going out with an "older guy" (no matter how messed up) is cool.
You can talk about marriage when you've been married. Otherwise, your macho bullshit makes you look awfully stupid.

I can't say it enough...Choose carefully, choose carefully.

Well, I'm not a 20 year old, and I think marriage is foolishness. In this day and age, being against marriage isnt bullshit, no matter your opinion.
You can stop the invectives, and discuss the matter, or can you only sling arrows at people you dont agree with?
These days, women are as easy to find as hair on a dog, and why would a man get married when all he stands to gain is familiarity?
Try to remember that everyone here is entitled to an opinion, whether you happen to like it or not.

My parents were divorced too. But that doesn't mean that marriage isn't a good thing. It's the foundation of a civilized society and for most people the only way to find real happiness.

This was printed by the Minneapolis *RED* Star!!! Amazing. Well wonders never cease?

I think that what weikel is trying to say, is that IF there is a divorce, the laws are not equitable, and a man stands to lose everything if he makes a bad choice of a spouse.
No one should have their life ruined over a single decision, and marriage is too easy to screw up, resulting in a man being a slave to a woman or the government for as long as they deem it nessesary.
Add children to mix, and a man has no options at all. Better to remain single, then to risk it all over love. You can always love a dog. Sex and love are not the same, and sex is too easy to get these days anyway.

These days, women are as easy to find as hair on a dog, and why would a man get married when all he stands to gain is familiarity? Your age doesn't matter. If screwing around is your MO, you don't know what you're talking about as far as marriage is concerned.
Try to remember that everyone here is entitled to an opinion, whether you happen to like it or not.
Hey, pal, weikel is a kid. He doesn't know much about life yet, let along intimate relationships. He's usually the first to jump on a thread about marriage and start bad-mouthing it.
His opinion is influenced by his parents' breakup, which is anecdotal.

Okay marriage may have been a good idea for men before no fault divorce laws and the feminazi movement but I saw the way my father got screwed you gotta be insane to marry now and if you must do so marry an Indian( ie from India not Injun)or far eastern gal the statistics are much better.
My all time favorite humorist/commentator on things HL Mencken didn't even think it was a good idea back in the 20's before the divorce laws became insane.
