FBI: Maryland shootings fit no category Agency profilers can see no motive other than terrorism

WASHINGTON It's not gang-banging. Or spree-shooting. Or armed robbery. And it's not a serial killer.
So what would motivate two assailants to randomly target five victims in a Maryland suburb, and possibly a sixth in D.C., killing each with a single shot from a high-powered rifle?
The calculated shootings, which took place Wednesday and Thursday, are like none that federal investigators have seen.
"If some sicko just wants to go out and essentially assassinate a bunch of random people and he's not a terrorist it's almost like a new category" of crime, said a veteran FBI agent.
The perpetrators aren't spree shooters, FBI profilers have concluded.
Typically, spree shooters are loners who snap one day and fire away until police appear and they come to their own violent end.
They typically seek revenge on an employer, such as the post office, or fellow students at a school. They come to the scene loaded with weapons, and take a stand, spraying victims with bullets.
But in this case, two men in a white van or "box truck" did not spray bullets, but picked targets, trained a rifle, or rifles, on their victims and aimed to kill, like trained assassins.
"In a spree shooting, there are usually a lot of people wounded," said one agent. "The shooter is not really taking time to aim."
"This is much more cold and calculated than the typical spree shooting," he said. "The victims were not wounded."
What's more, the sniper, or snipers, didn't take a stand, but sped off to avoid capture.
"This is different they've taken great steps to avoid being apprehended," he added.
Authorities are said to have a description of the shooters but are not releasing it. They've reviewed video tapes from security cameras at some of the businesses where the shootings took place.
"The idea of terrorism is to spread fear," said one law enforcement officer. "If that's what they wanted to do, they've succeeded, because there's a lot of fear in the Washington area right now."

This sure sounds terror related. If so, we should expect a claim of responsibility in the not too distant future. Also, if terror related, I hope it's not more than a couple of these guys and doesn't grow nationally. If so, I'd expect my gov't ought to deport a lot of people or be faced with a lot of these people being discriminated against (violently, I might add).

"They want us to help look for them and they know what the look like they are just not going to tell us. "They also want folks to let them know about any neighbor that has, or might have a gun.

either way, you've got to admit [much to the dismay of the populace of that area] NOT putting out a description in such a high profile and very potentially dangerous perp is, shall we say, highly suspect

I suspect the reason for the delay in telling us more about the perps is for the very reason you cite, above.....the authorities know that we, the people, won't stand for this very long....we're not ALL sheeple....

Well, their hits on in a "light commercial" area....where no one is likely to recognize them. They're probably holed up between the two towns they hit. Both with 1-95 access?? and the main route driven by Atta and friends.

"The victims were not wounded." Hmmm ..... wonder what killed them?

Some of the Ku Klux Klan types in Howard County Md (adjacent to Montgomery) have Identity affiliations as do both of the major motorcycle gangs in the area (one of which is called "The Pagans". I don't know the other, but rival gang's name.)" I live in Howard County and have never seen nor heard of any organized KKK activity in the county. (BTW, this county unfortunately is very liberal and stocked with DemonRAT supporters.) As far as the "Pagans" motorcycle gang is concerned, I haven't heard anyting about them in over twenty years. I believe they now hang out on the eastern shore beach towns like Ocean City, Md and Rehobeth Beach, Delaware. And also in New Jersey. Some have said that they've seen them in Edgewater or North Beach, Maryland.

The victims IMHO were nothing more than targets of oppurtunity for the shooters.Think about how many times, driving around you see someone and no one else is around.Either terrorist or someone that wants the thrill to kill somebody without getting caught.Either way,I hope the cops figure it out pretty quick.

>>>No doubt one of their big boys thinks its Eric Rudolph, tanned, rested and ready from his vacation in a North Carolina cave.<<<
Have to part company with you there. If they believed it were ER they would blast it from coast to coast.

My guess : The authorities are not releasing the race because the two men are of "middle eastern" appearance, and all decent, right thinking government bureaucrats and officials know that everybody outside their little social circle and alumni association is a rednecktrailertrashxenophobicneanderthal, who'll go out and murder anyone who looks vaguely "foreign" if they have an excuse. Sorta like those broadcasters who forced the "I'm an American!" public service announcements on us post 09/11 : They know all of us "out here" in flyover country are a bunch of trigger-happy morons, so they have to release heavy-handed, maudlin sermonettes over the airwaves to keep us from running amuck. Or to put it another way : Remember that utterly repulsive article from Paul Begala (sp?) in which he basically called all the people in the states that voted for Bush homophobic klan member psychoes. That's how a lot of the most influential, powerful people in the country think about people like us. Like that female thing in the WJC admin, who said (a little before OKC) that what made Vietnam so tragic was the unelite status of the common soldier-"farmboys from the south and the midwest", is how she put it. Elite contempt .

The Fox News profilers
1. men between the ages of 25-45
2. Love Guns
3. Read "Soldier of Fortune" and or "Guns and Ammo" magazines
4. Are deer hunters and may have also killed a moose
5. Go on hunting trips to "like Canada or out west"
6. Spend a lot of time at shooting ranges
7. Brag about "what their guns can do"
8. Name people or groups of people they dont like
The dectective FOX interviewed said that we need to go into gun stores and get out the records of people who have recently purchased "these kinds" of guns
The feds were busy showing everyone evil black "assault hunting" rifles and telling civilians to be on the lookout for an AR15 rifle and report anyone they see with one...the police will question the owners and see if they can legally own one...
The feds had a table filled with assault rifles and one bolt action rifle...
They kept saying they had the caliber of the round (before ballistics had examined the evidence)
Because they had the remains of a 223 bullet they had already decided what type of gun was used
They claimed the round was a 22 cal and had rounds from 22 up to what looked like a slap anti tank round which the cameral focused upon...
FOX put out a list of weapons
Buzz words were bandied about..Devastating Long Range Paramilitary Assault Hunting Rifle
IMO this was more of an opportunity to push Clintons agenda against firearms than
a press release about who what why
Lon Horuchi would be proud..

FBI: Maryland shootings fit no category Agency profilers can see no motive other than terrorism We suspect it. The FBI suspects it. So why won't the media report it?

Seems like this would fall into a category we already have - Terrorism.
What by any other name is this?
