Authorities have confirmed a shooting at Michael's Craft Store in Spotsylvania County. They have no additional information at this time, as they have recently arrived on the scene.
Yesterday's shooting of five people in Maryland have area residents concerened, and some say they will stay indoors.
Police have NOT yet connected this shooting with the shootings in Maryland. We will keep you posted as the investigation unfolds.

any military training..there are two that are missing from the terrorist cell in Portland... at least one had been in the Military..supposedly they are out of the Country..location unknown..The tipster in the Portland cell arrest had heard them in a gravel pit shooting.Far fetched but..when 2 are involved seems unusual for a serial killer profile..but what do I know.

I think our first response must be to indicate terrorism...those stupid investigators in the LAX shooting said at first that it WASN'T terrorists and then the guy turned out to have terrorist CONNECTIONS! We are still not in a wartime mentality and that puts us all in danger!

they arent stupid would have dumped that truck by now ..was one just like that behind me today..!! innocent enough but made my eyes stay glued on the rear view mirror! ;)

Yikes, perhaps I am over reacting, but this is the first thing I thought of.
You're not alone. It was the first thing I thought of too last night when I heard about it...

I recall reading an article not too long ago on FR about the various training of the terrorists. One of the things they were training to do was to shoot innocent people at random just like what is happening. Does anyone else remember this article? New al-Qaida training tape shows another side of terror

I just heard similar on ABC radio NYC. Reportedly, law enforcement does NOT consider this latest shooting to be related because "the shooter used a different firearm."
OK, so a random civilian shooting in a parking lot about an hour away and 2 days later is NOT RELATED to 6 other random civilian shootings (one of which was, remarkably, in a parking lot of a different store in the same chain) simply because a different gun was used. Does this seem absurd to anyone else but me?

This actually could be a copy cat case. Guy wanted to bump off his wife. She was heading to a Michael's store, so he did the deed. Or, could be a crazy copy cat type person. If it was the same person as yesterday, I don't see why he would have switched weapons, since they were having so much "fun" yesterday, with what they were using.

Spotsylvania County police say the woman was loading packages into her car about 2:30 p.m. at a Michaels crafts store outside Spotsylvania Mall when she was shot in the back. Watch your six...
5 yesterday and the lady shot in the back makes six.
I'm a little behind on the news today... maybe somebody else has already noticed this.

There was another shooting last night at about 7:00 or so. A man was killed around the area where the others were. They have not officially linked his murder with the rest. This lady today would make 7.

Article says she was shot in the lower back - Sounds like a less skilled shooter.
Question re "high powered" - The weapons that the police displayed at their press conference today as samples included an AR-15 and a long gun with scope. Are these both "high powered"?

No offense but even if these people had been given CCW permits it wouldn't have helped them. They were shot with a long range rifle. Even us gun nuts are thinking twice about heading out around those parts. So how about you quit being snippy

At least the third over time, according to a fellow freeper (and I vaguely remember something in the news about it here in Dallas)

Just recently confirmed from 2 other threads the DC victim was the same type of round . . . so now all 7 shootings are linked . . . 6 dead, 1 wounded (and the first store shot where nobody actually hit)

If the shootings at the 2 Michael's Craft Stores are related. I think that the shooters are trying to send a message. Why go to 2 different Michael's and shoot at people? Why go to one Michael's Store and start the shooting spree and then go to another Michael's and shoot again?
I looked up the meaning of the name Michael and it mean's "Who is like God" and is of Hebrew origin. Is the perp's or perp trying to send a message?
I know it sounds off the wall, but again why pick 2 Michael's Craft Stores? (just some thoughts, especially if the perp or perp's are of middle eastern decent and this is a terrorist act.)

No offense but even if these people had been given CCW permits it wouldn't have helped them.... Maybe not, but it sure would have helped identify which white cubevan was involved....
...reports from the scene indicate that although several bystanders returned fire at the truck with the gunmen, the shooters fled the scene in a white van-type vehicle with multiple bullet holes in the body work, the side windows and windshield shot out, and with two flat tires....
