New York Sen. Hillary Clinton said yesterday that she was right to raise questions five months ago about a possible White House cover-up regarding what President Bush knew in advance of the 9/11 attacks, adding that she still thinks her constituents are entitled to answers.
"It's the job of a senator to ask questions on the minds of his or her constituents," Clinton said through spokesman Philippe Reines. "And nobody is more entitled to answers about what happened on 9/11 than the people of New York."
"Sen. Clinton believed, and believes to this day, that we must ask the hard questions about what happened on Sept. 11," he added.
Mrs. Clinton was reacting to reports that President Bush thought her earlier comments suggesting he had advanced knowledge of the 9/11 attacks were "irresponsible." Bush's reaction to Clinton's remarks is revealed for the first time in a new book by Washington Times reporter Bill Sammon, "Fighting Back."
In a May 16 speech on the Senate floor Mrs. Clinton had complained:
"I am simply here today on the floor of this hallowed chamber to seek answers to the questions being asked by my constituents, questions raised by one of our newspapers in New York with the headline 'Bush Knew.'...
"The president knew what? My constituents would like to know the answer to that and many other questions, not to blame the president or any other American but just to know, to learn from experience, to do all we can today to ensure that a 9/11 never happens again."
Responding to reports that Bush had received an August 2001 CIA briefing on plans by al Qaeda to hijack airliners, Clinton even went so far as to raise questions about a possible White House cover-up.
"Why (do) we know today, May 16, about the warning he received. Why did we not know this on April 16 or March 16 or February or Jan. 16 or Aug. 16 of last year?," she complained.
Hours later Sen. Clinton told reporters, "Clearly the public demands answers immediately. The people of New York deserve those answers more than anyone. I believe that getting the facts out would be the very best response to this troubling news."
Twenty-four hours after raising questions about a White House 9/11 cover-up, Mrs. Clinton told a Long Island, New York audience that national security was now her number one priority.

An interesting question that I cannot answer. However, I did make some observations during the Torch rant on Monday. I watched his eyes, and I have to say that I did not see evil in them which I found surprising. He's corrupt and the source I think of it is greed and the desire for power. But if his eyes are any indication, he's not raw evil. In fact, I would say that the absence of evil makes me think he has deluded himself as much as he has the voters of NJ. A contrast to him is Kofi Anan. To me, that man has evil eyes. He knows what he's doing. He wants world power (and is working with Bill Clinton, I might add) and he knows it. He glows with it. Ugh!
I used to agree with you that Bill is just immoral and Hill is evil. Now I'm not so sure. I think he just hides it better as he bites that lower lip and smiles. Lots of people are just suckers for that kind of thing.

The American public would like some answers from YOU, too. But since you are a liar and run from answering unscripted questions, what's the point? You were scum for holding up a newspaper headline on the senate floor, a headline that stated 'BUSH KNEW' across the front page, and stood there willing to actually inject the statement that our President would have allowed such a horror to happen. Only a person with a big empty void where character should reside could do such a devastating thing in front of our nation.
I state that the REASON you could do such a devastating, horrible act is because that is how YOU operate...you are the type of person who could have KNOWN about such a horror (just look what you and your husband did to counteract terrorism during your reign of terror!-NADA!) and kept it close for future personal gain.
Our President and the terrific, qualified, decent people he surrounds himself with don't operate or think like you do. Heck-most of us don't think like you and your ilk. And we never will.
While your fatuous coke nosed suspended law license intern boinking rapist suspended LAW license (so dishonorable for an ex president of ALL people) of a failed ex president rants AGAINST our President on foreign shores, continuing to prove his lack of character and willingness to go as low as possible to divide and separate our nation and our world, you do the same from the senate floor.
No one comes close to your lowness hillary. At least in that area, you, your staff, your buddies and your spinners have cornered the market. Your own personal legacy is undoubtedly going to be as horrendous as your husbands.
