What has happened to our image as a beacon of freedom, opportunity and the right way to live?
Much of the world fears or hates us. We have a proclaimed policy of attacking any country whose policies or regimes don't follow our dictates.
Why have we become the biggest bully in the world?

"Ho Chi Minh was never a communist."
Sorry, but you just lit off the Dumbshit alarm. In or around 1919 Ho was a student in Paris and was a founding member of the French Communist Party. You can look it up.

Globalism is not a valid policy for our Constitutional government.

Globalism is not a valid policy for our Constitutional government. Define "Globalism" and where the constitution forbids it.

Spot on! I studied Libertarian economics (I actually like Von Mises a LOT) and my thought was that the ideals were great but the practical applications were nearly impossible. Sadly the Libertarians I have encountered have either been potheads wanting to (insert druggie whine) leeeegalize maaaaan! (unrepentant hippies) or folks who were existing in a parallel universe. The world is populated by lots of uneducated, nasty folks who want nothing more than to drag everyone into the primordial swamp they inhabit. Nothing really accounts for this mindset in Libertarian ideology. More's the pity. There are many parts to libertarian thought that could be used well and wisely by Republicans.

" GLOBALISM " ? And what, pray tell, is that a code word for now ?
You can't even use that word, in any of its present day context ... which are completely nuts anyway.

Darn girl howed you get so smart?
I know it wasnt public edukashun was it? GOTTA BE that good ole common sense!!!
To: Texasforever
You define Globalism and tell me why it is Constitutional and why you support destroying our sovereignity.
To: ATOMIC_PUNK
Common sense. Publik Skool filled my head with useless BS. Reality and useful friends helped with the rest. :-) I am not thrilled with extra security but thanks to the POS and the Pantsuit, we have some nasty sleepers running free. (That might be fum NY FReepers: Thanks for 9/11 Hitlary signs)
To: Caligirl for Bush
You are 100 % correct, with one small correction. The parts, of Libertarianism, which the Republicans should use more of, are the very parts , purloined from the GOP, by Libertarians. That's why they sound so useful / valid. LOL
To: UnBlinkingEye
You define Globalism and tell me why it is Constitutional and why you support destroying our sovereignity. I don't use terms that have no meaning. You used it... define it.
To: UnBlinkingEye
You used " globalism " ; YOU attempt to define it. Your use of it, was incorrect ... even by any standard useage of it today, by anyone.

I'm headed for bed, I'll refute you in the morning.
To: UnBlinkingEye
I'll refute you in the morning. I am on pins and needles.
To: Texasforever
He won't ; he can't refute you. he doesn't even know the meaning of " globalism ". LOL
To: nopardons
But it sounds so good. I keep convincing myself that I am talking to adults but it is becoming almost impossible lately.
To: Texasforever
That's because there aren't that many left posting here.
When a word is used, we ALL must agree to the meaning. Otherwise, we could alal say anything, claim that it's true, and ... oh well, we've already had to live with a president who did that for 8 long, weary years.
To: PhiKapMom
PhiKapmom, I would like to ask your advice on something. I've been a member here for awhile now and mostly just lurk.
We moved to a small town in soutwest Mo. about 7 yrs. ago. When we were here for a while we notcied that there were absolutely NO ethnic groups of people here and I mean none.
This was strange to us coming from south(melting pot) Fla.But in the last 6 to 8 month's ME people are moving here and buying or running businesses.
I have not talked about it to anyone I know here but I'm getting a little nervous about this. Think I'm being paranoid?
To: conservativejunkie
Shoot, you all went to bed. Great I will never know if I'm paranoid or not!

Our new policy also threatens nations that could take pre-emptive action against us. I think it is a mistake.
Pre-emptive action??? Now don't go taking one word and start using it out of context. Are you suggesting that Iraq is this little innocent country sittign in the desert minding its own bussiness, when the U.S. came along and noticed ti had a few weapons so they planned an attack ont he innocent little Iraqis???
Get a hold of yourself man! They have funded and backed numerous terrorist attacks on us. These constitute acts of war!
The part that you seem to be missingabout the whole pre-emptive strike thing is that we are performing a pre-emptive strike against a known enemy that is waging holy war against us while stockpiling weapons of mass destruction you nit-wit!!!
And don't give me this sheep herder crap either! I'm an NBC officer in the United States Marine Corps and as such I have watched the footage of the Iraqis under Saddams command chaining Kurds to metal posts and then gassing them so that they could determine which gasses work best when used one after another! I've seen this and other evidence years ago. Tony Blair has seen this evidence as well as the new evidence that has nto been made public and so have the rest of our allies. The fact that the President hasn't called you up to consult you just blows your little mind doesn't it? Go crawl back in your stinkin hole!!!

I wouldn't be so quick to eliminate Russia or China. Now can you tell me last time Russia and/or China were conquering other nations?!OK Russia wanted access to the North Sea, so Peter the Great did it and conquered the Baltic States, as for China all they wanted is their old territory back to make the old empire whole.
China is no enemy of ours, despite ths sabre rattling of late, they are just like the old chinese kung-fu movies, lots of rhetoric not a whole lot behind it.Believe me, WAR with US is the least thing Russia or China have on their mind. Why you want to kill the golden goose?!!
Come to think of it, if you will, we are the center of the EARTH like it or not...if WE sneeze everyone is catching the flu...period! Just look at the international markets, "WE ARE THE KINGMAKERS OF THIS PLANET".Undoubtely the way things are at this point, no one country can do anything whitout US approval more or less. We control the international money, the dollar is the king and everything else is just small talk.
Now, if you think that we are such a hegemonistic, imperialistic bully, name me, the last country we have conquered!(compared to England,Portugal,Spain,France,Italy,Germany...all those wholier than thou countries trying to paint us as the bad boy).
I dare you !
