What has happened to our image as a beacon of freedom, opportunity and the right way to live?

Much of the world fears or hates us. We have a proclaimed policy of attacking any country whose policies or regimes don't follow our dictates.

Why have we become the biggest bully in the world?

Just FYI, and he is currently on a mission where he faces jihadist scum pretty often, in another country. I mean, I am not saying he is being nice, but he is far from a coward.

And if I am...I'll say this, I'm a frustrated member. And though I might have barked this out, it's not an uncommon sentiment, when it comes to Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Most people in uniform can figure out who the real enemy is: the Saudies and the fact that US troops are on the line defending the very people who blow up US buildings is disgusting and plain wrong, verging on criminal.

And for your information, I was raised in two different cultures so I look at things in a more critical light. Doesn't mean I wont' fight and kill when I have to or die if it comes down to that, means I don't fall for every bozo beating the patriotism drum. I prefer to figure out why he's beating that drum and if there is a profit involved for him....as there usually is.

I'm also sick and damned tired of all the arm chair generals here and every where else who never served, don't have sons that serve or anyone else, but are all for getting American troops killed off for the sake of their own egos.

I'm equally sick and tired of all the idiots who will go all over the world, without reading a damn thing about it, and point out all the problems everyone else has while conviniently ignoring all the problems, (such as the endemic poverty) in America. That is called hypocracy. "Judge not least you be judged yourself. Why pick at the mote in your brother's eye, when there is a plank in yours?" And other people from other nations see it too.

As for you, if you do have a son in the military and aren't afraid to loose him on some scheme, that's something different.
