"Dump DAVIS!" FReep ALERT!!!
From an e-mail sent out earlier today:
**Tomorrow (10/3/2002) on the John & Ken Show, we take our $104,000 offer to Governor "Joe" Davis to his campaign office here in LA. That's the payoff we're offering him to debate Bill Simon on our show.
The location is 9911 West Pico Blvd. on the westside (we'll be outside on the sidewalk).
Check our website ("Newslinks") for the area map.
We'll have the money and tofu berry shakes and more goodies that we think the "gov" just can't refuse.
That's Thursday (10/2) beginning at 3 PM.
If you can't make it, tune in and hear the party on KFI AM 640, More Stimulating Talk Radio!**

A second thread was started at
click here. I put a link in that thread to this one.

Listened to part of it, great advertising for FR!
Duffus's office keeping them out and not accepting the check and debate offer was really stupid, upwards of a million people listened to that fiasco and it had to make a lot of the Simon voters.
Calling the cops on them was even stupider!

The Chicken is from the Simon Campaign, I think. He's not a freeper. You'll be glad to know that the chicken lives in Simi Valley.

Great Job RonDog!
I wish I could have been there on this FReep, but I did get to hear it all. John went off on Davis & ripped him a couple of new ones!

The weird thing about being there was that we couldn't hear the people who called the show, only John and Ken's end of the conversation. What did Bill Simon say when he called?
To: Tony in Hawaii
It was hard for Simon to get a word in because, as you probably heard, John was going off on Davis. Simon was pretty animated & getting "into it" - pretty much going along w/ John. Simon was trashing Davis too, naming off a list of his failures, and that he was going to be tough on Davis in the debate Mon.
He was calling Davis a debate dodger & then said he would kick in another $15K. He also said there was probably a sign in front f Davis' office telling businesses to get out of CA, since Davis' record was hurting the atmosphere in CA for businesses. Simon said Davis owed him 4 debates 1 for every year he had failed CA. He also accused Davis of lying in his TV ads.
John was giving Simon debate pointers. John also told Simon his new commercial was good, but he shouldnt say Im not perfect that he should attack Davis. Simon responded wait for Mon. (it wasnt clear whether this meant new ads were coming out or a reference to the debate). Simon was aggressive, but of course couldnt top John, who was just railing on Davis.
RonDog got FreeRepublic.com on the air a couple of times & described it as a conservative news forum. John also mentioned FR a bunch of times.
The good thing was the chanting was clearly heard over the radio & it sounded like the crowd was really big.
Sounds like you guys had fun. Were there any TV/news outlets there?
To: gubamyster
No, no TV trucks, although there may have been freelancers. Still, the radio audience heard plenty.

John & Ken Show on KFI, AM 649 in Los Angeles ^ | 3 October 2002 | Thiinktwice

KFI-AM and John & Ken are offering Davis $84,000 to debate Bill Simon on their show.
So far Davis has refused to make himself accessible to voters and debate the issues Californians care about with Bill Simon.
With all this money up for grabs, the question now is, "How long can Gray restrain himself from picking up free campaign cash?"
Especially when this has no ethics questions attached to it.
So what's it going to be, Gray?

Now they're discussing the newest Bill Simon commercial. They don't like it, since Simon says he's not perfect and the media can trumpet that line. They think he should go after Davis to increase his negatives with relentless attacks. They like the egray.org site, and think Simon should hire the eGray Hooker for another commercial. :)
THANK YOU, heleny!
Your LIVE color commentary REALLY helped make this thread a success!

Thanks for the link.
This really struck me in your post: So far Davis has refused to make himself accessible to voters and debate the issues
My first thought was: This is exactly what Hillary did when she ran for the Senate. Unfortunately, it worked for her.

Thanks, RonDog, for the kind words. Actually, without your presence there throughout the show and all their comments about your costume, their show would have been less funny to hear. Thanks for working so hard as the eGray Hooker.
I hope those guards/thugs didn't give you any trouble yesterday.
I thought John and Ken said they would post pictures, but I didn't see any show pictures on either their website or the kfi website.
