"I do expect GOP to scream loud and often, but so far, nothing."
And they shouldn't. It has the appearance of games playing, and interfering with people's right to cast a legitimate vote. The legal arguments may be valid, but appear "legalistic".

It won't matter to the DUmb bunnies.
They believe that Jeb Bush was the one responsible for Reno losing the Rat primary in Florida.

It is a DemonCrap putsch.

How about in two weeks if Forrester's poll numbers start to tank and he decides to take his name off the ballot? Can we go to court and get his name replaced with a more known, likeable candidate? This is beyond farce and has gone from the ridiculous to the sublime.

If this isn't played very carefully by the Republicans we may win the battle, but loose the war.
More is at stake here then the corrupt senate seat of New Jersey. If the SCOTUS overturns this ( obscene ) ruling, it will result in a major stimulus to the great unwashed masses of the Democrats, just in time to mobilize them to vote. It will allow them to resurrect all their venom regarding the 2000 presidential race using the usual talking heads and their pet press yadda yadda yadda.
Net result could be big gains in both houses for the Rats.

Expect to hear the RATS yammering this talking point 'til your ears bleed! "Even the Republicans on this court did the right thing here! It was UNANIMOUS! Keane's and Whitman's mushy middle weinies feel the need for "unity" when they're setting precedent you see.
Ah, another result of the Republican "big tent" theory. Put RINOs in office, you end up with Democrats in the end. Law? What law?

SCOTUS will probably not touch this theft, its simply not as compelling as the attempt by the Florida supreme court to steal the presidential election after the votes had been counted. I wish I were wrong, but give 85 percent odds that I'm right. Just remember; a 'republican', one Governor Christie Whitman appointed four of these judges and two of them (including Miss Poritz) were her attorneys general and call themselves "republicans". But then again, so did Red Harry Bridges of the Longshoreman's Union in the 1940s.

They just tossed absentee ballots/military votes!!!! The RATs consider it a WIN-WIN since they were mostly Pubbies anyway.

Aren't there any other candidates for Torricelli's seat besides Lautenberg and Forrester?
Yes there are six candidates running for the Senate seat from New Jersey...... Besides the Democrat and Republican, there are one from each of the following Parties: Green; Libertarian; Socialist; NJ Conservative Party

>>I'm starting to feel very unprotected and don't know what we'll do if SCOTUS won't touch it or votes differently this time.<<
SCOTUS would be nuts to touch this with a ten foot pole.
Any Republican who thinks there is anything to be gained by an appeal is temporarily insane.
Please stop.
To: Peach
Yes, if Forrestor falters, Republicans should be able to put Tom Kean or Rudy Guiliani on the NJ ballot. Oops, sorry, the courts only give this right to DemonCrap candidates.
To: TheBigB
Barry Richard, call your office.
Thanks! I have been trying to think of his name all day.
Now can we get Judge Saul Sanders?

Sounds fair to me. Why in the world do we have election laws if they won't be enforced? Meantime Little Tommy Midget stonewalls on the President's judicial nominees.
To: laconic
I don't think SCOTUS will touch it either. We knew the Dems didn't propose this scheme without knowing the outcome.
