You mean: "Kill her baby". But you haven't got the nerve to say what you mean.

At least Torricelli supported a womans right to choose.

Choose what? Let's stop the duplicity and call it what it is: a woman's right to kill her unborn child. The propaganda on this issue is so thick that it's warped people's ability to call it what it is. I fully support a woman's "right to control her own fertility," in the sense of a woman's right to prevent conception. After conception, it's no longer one individual we're talking about, but an independent life, complete with a unique genetic code that will enable that new life to grown to full maturity as a human being.

People here resort to ad hominem attacks when it's obvious that someone is so lost that reason will have no effect on them.

Hi John,

I am a woman and I chose my form of birth control long before I engaged in any sexual activity. I am not one who will tell another woman what she must do, but in the same sense, I should not be responsible for her stupidity, carelessness, or any other reason for having an unwanted pregnancy.

I have always been told that abortion is for rape or incest. In this case, should not each woman who has an abortion, funded by my tax dollars, be required to identify the rapist or incestuous partner? Police should be at every Planned Parenthood clinic to file reports and then issue arrest warrants. This should definitely slow down the cases of mass rapes that apparently go unchecked in this country.

I doubt GW wants me pregnant and barefoot. He hasn't shut down the shoe industry yet. But maybe he feels like this woman (remember, I am a woman, and this is an issue that concerns me, more than a man, John) and thinks we should not have to abort to have birth control. The pill is almost 50 years old, condoms are fairly safe, my niece says her IUD has worked for over 25 years. How about those choices?

TC

If the fetus had the mother's dna an argument could be made, perhaps. It is not, it is a separate person and the mother is the vessel carrying that person. Where is that person's 'Right to Choose', if you're really that concerned.

In same news story we hear Mr. Bush and President Clinton

Really? I'll have to listen for that. Journalists have a style manual, and there is flexibility in such matters, but they have to be consistent. If they aren't consistent, someone might get the idea they are reporting in a biased manner. It's right there at that point of perception that the reporter becomes the news. Network talking heads know better, and PBS wouldn't even try it because they know the demographics of their audience includes college professors who get a kick out of finding errors on students' term papers.

Would you at least exempt from Camp Pendleton south from your CA bombing campaign? Pendleton has a couple of Marine Expediitonary Units that might fight back, and the three carriers I can see across San Diego Bay might put up a little resistance.

Yes. Maybe Precision bombing. Hollywood San Francisco Oakland Berkely. Portions of LA. And a Daisy Cutter for Barbara Streisand Alec Baldwin and Jessica Lange. And drop some relief to Tom Cruise. The man needs a makeover. He is a hideous looking creature. Have you seen him lately. Oh yeah. Bomb Brad Arm Pitt and Jennifer Anistons house.

Is that the standard of argument around here? Ad hominem attacks? At least Torricelli supported a womans right to choose.

The"attack" was not ad hominem. In the spirit of freedom to choose, we just choose to call you a "5" and tell you to go back to DU where your faux intellect will be appreciated.

Semper Disgusted

There is no such thing as a 'right' to choose. There is nothing in the Constitution about abortion.

help for those of us for whom the dream of wealth has been a nightmare

What help? You realize that average joe pays almost 50% of his income (middle class) due to taxes at all 3 branches--income, property, payroll, sales and hidden taxes. Welfare is for completely lazy people whom have no desire to work.

the irresponsibility of the Bush tax cut for the wealthy and how we're going to pay for it

The tax cut makes up like 3% of the budget for the next 10 years. My family is middle class, I got a tax cut. If you are not paying taxes of course you can't get a tax cut because there is nothing to cut. And yes, the wealthy deserve a tax break too. Anyone who can pay over 33% of their income in federal income taxes ALONE deserves a break. Nevermind that the top 5% still pay 30%+ of all tax dollars. I guess that isn't enough for you. If you like economic equality, I will be more than willing to give you a one way ticket to China.

above all the right wing reactionary, activist judges that Bush is trying to stack the deck with

I think you need to find out what the definition of an activist judge is before you call right wing judges activists. Activism is making up the law. There is no federal jurisdiction for abortion in the US Constitution. According to amendment 10, that power is delegated to the states. That means if New Jersey wants to have legal abortions on demand, that's their prerogative. If Texas doesn't, that is theirs also. It is not the business of the USSC to simply make up 'rights' out of thin air.

You're forgiven ... but it's not EVEN funny to jest over such an issue as the democrat championing of serial killing. That party has made the sanctioning of murder their slogan! It was fairly simple, what with the somnambulent masses preoccupied with bread and circus, fed a steady diet of sex for recreation and freedom from consequences. It is our job as conservatives to remind our fellow Americans that the most glaring consequence is the purposeful killing of individual human beings in the womb (or mostly out of the womb), and the complicitiy of such heinous behavior is a life-long burden for the suvivor most intimately connected to the slaughter, the woman who purposely withdrew life support to the innocent and opted for hiring a serial killer to off a living unborn child.
