Congressmen Jim McDermott and David Bonior have "MISLED" the American people about their Vietnam service.
During their Baghdad press conference, both McDermott and Bonior touted their Vietnam combat service, while calling President Bush a liar and praising Sadam Hussein's openness and cooperation.
Upon returning to the U.S., the two congressmen held a press conference and again highlighted their Vietnam combat service, as an obvious measure to boost their qualifications to remark on the horrors of war.
Following the news conference, McDermott appeared on MSNBC and once again clearly established at the onset of the interview that he had served in Vietnam.
And most recently, Major Garrett of Fox News reported that he had just talked with Bonoir and McDermott, and noted that both of them had "fought in the Vietnam War"
But easily available evidence indicates neither of them ever left the safety of the CONUS.
According to Congress Merge Online, McDermott's military experience is shown as:
Professional Experience (including Military):
Long Beach Naval Station, US Navy Medical Corps,1968-70
Private Practitioner, 1970-87
According to the Detroit Free Press (May 18, 2002), Bonoir's military experience is:
"...He enlisted in the Air Force after receiving his draft notice because enlisting meant he had more control over where he might be stationed; getting drafted most likely would mean being sent to Vietnam. He served in California in 1968-72 and earned his master's degree at the same time."
Why the press blindly buys off on what these two traitors say is incredible.
Just a couple of the standard journalism questions would show these two as the liars and traitors they really are:
When were you in Vietnam?
What campaign/service ribbons were you awarded?
Why are you lying about Vietnam combat service, when both of you spent your military time in the State of California ?
Just maybe someone from the press will see this and take the both of them to task.

McDermott is the sleaziest whore to ever be involved in Washington State politics - and he has tough competition for that title - including former governor Mike Lowry.

I was going to say 90%, but except for Cam Rahn Bay, where I was, I would rather be in the bush every day that have to have served at Cam Rahn Bay. That had to have been the longest, most boring,AND hottest year of your life.
there was no fully safe place, although Saigon was probably safer than Central Park at night.
Most big VN cities were probably a lot safer than Fayetteville on a Saturday night back in the 60's. There were people who spent 5-6 years in VN,and never once heard a shot fired.

Did you watch McDermott tonight on Donahaue? No,I'm one of the poor people who don't have cable. I'm still happy with rabbit ears. Thanks for the info, though. I agree with you that Donahue was probably trying to do some "spin" for his fellow commie.

So a cople of more Libs are found to be lieing sacks of Sh*t, I'm Shocked!
What pisses me off even more is that the Presstitutes don't call them on it.

Oh I know that. I wasn't taking issue with you. I too am totally disgusted and to be honest getting very jaded about the state of our republic. I am afraid our process of open and free elections is being tampered with more and more and that someday ... well the thought is almost unbareable. Combine all of this with the 2000 election lawlessness of the Democrats and now the crap in New Jersey. Soon there will be no rule of law. Yep, I am also totally disgusted and yet none of what is going on surprises me. We have been headed here for a long time and our fall into the abyss is increasing in velocity by geometric proportions.

Excellent. More "Stolen Valor." The democrats are utterly devoid of standards and know no shame. Just leftist trash, unfit for public service but clever enough to dupe the voters of their districts or states into one more term.
No integrity! Just a scam!
Too bad the scam is on us. Sad.

So, you're saying there's no difference between someone who fought in Vietnam and McDermott...a shrink who never left the states??????

Does any know where my rep Mike Thompson served as he claims Vietnam service. He was the other 'Rat that slithered back into the US from Iraq. He is catching hell here in his home district. 90% of the people responding to a radio poll panned him for going.

This ain't no surprise at all, XG. The few people I've known who were actually in combat, with only 2 exceptions I can think of (one Uncle and one co-worker) were silent. They didn't want to talk about the horrors they went through. People like Bonior want to run their mouth? Let'em run it, they know they're full of it, and they will be exposed for the pieces of crap they really are. If he had any gonads, he wouldn't be running his fat trap. Sorry to hear he was in the AF, I'm ashamed of the bastard. He deserves zero respect. Low-life scum.

For the VFW You do need to have been in combat overseas
( what the F stands for)
But for the American Legion. You just need to have served during the right dates. ( WW I, II, K, V, DS) and AmVets you just needed to have served.

An American airman was missing in Iraq --
one wonders if he was tortured or used as a smallpox experiment. Would Baghdad Bonior be willing to spit in the eye of the airman's mother? If not, why not? How about McDermott? He was ready to offer comfort to Saddam, has he offered comfort to the airman mother?

According to the U.S. House and Biographical Directory of the Congress web sites,
Bonior served in the U.S. Air Force in 1968-72 rising to the rank of staff sergeant, but not seeing combat.
McDermott was a physician and lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps from 1968-70 who did not see combat.
Thompson served in the Army from 1968-69, rising to the rank of staff sergeant, including combat service as a paratrooper in Vietnam.
This is based on unaudited information furnished by Congressional staffs, for what it's worth.
Thompson's web site claims "He served in combat with the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant/platoon leader with the 173rd Airborne Brigade where he was wounded and received a Purple Heart. He was also an instructor with the Army's Airborne School." This is a lengthy military resume for an individual who reportedly served in 1968-69 only.

Subiv Bay in the Philippines. Actually Subic Bay itself didn't have any brothels. However, Subic City did ...the Subic Bay Club was one of my particular favorites. I generally stayed out of Po city though.
