"dont worry about breaking the law, can it be done?" DNC election slogan.

County clerk wants to see a decision by the end of the day. Big Laugh from audiance. Justice asks bottom line day. Clerk says no later than Wednesday for a decision.

This is going to wind up in the US SC next week, based on the fact that the 17th amendment mandates how the election of Senators is conducted, and the "equal protection" prohibits states from denying any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
Absentee voters, including the military, are going to be screwed if the NJ SC arbitrarily waves a standing election law, and the US SC (probably by a 7-2 vote) will not let that stand.
And Republicans are evil because they won't let the Democrats change any law that bothers them.

So not only are the Democrats asking the SCONJ to run roughshod over the law, but the taxpayers of NJ will have to cough up at least $729,000 for the effort! That's money that could be going to hire teachers or pay for school lunches! YOU ARE STARVING THE CHILDREN, RATS!

New Jersey has a new law (2002) that says that all work done for the state must be done by union labor. They haven't brought this up yet!

It's no wonder Tony Soprano lives and works in NJ.

I don't think Lautenberg can win.

It was a sympathy vote.... they felt bad for Widda' Carnahan.... here in the show-me-state...
I read an article a few weeks ago, that said even Democrat loyalist really can't stand Jean Carnahan. Knowing voting trends here in MO, Carnahan will probably get re-elected.
I can't stand Democrats

I live in North Florida. Don't EVER compare us to New Jersey. Change your name to South Florida.

well gee says the Justice (???) how much do you need...You can tell this guy doesn't want to do it. He also said its not possible beyond Wed of next week. He also said OT, other laws need to be changed to avoid bidding, and need about 729k.
He brought up missed cases.

Steve Forbes is from that area.
Lets switch, too!!! Why not? Only let's wait, like the NJ Chief Justice lady says some states do, til the day before the election.
To: tellw
But I thought the Attorney Generall said that the Democrats should pay for it since they are the ones seeking "relief".

If this has already been posted, I apologize. Just got back home for a few minutes and have to go out again. The New Jersey Supreme Court is taking phone calls nationally in order to "poll" on this issue. I called from the car and had a polite discussion with person who answered. Their Number is 609-292-4837. They probably won't make a decision today so calls are important. PLEASE CALL.

Ole Frankie sure put the 'Lout' in 'Lautenberg.'

What other states allow has no bearing on what the NJ legislature directed should occur in the state of NJ. Reminds me of the dumb what-passed-for-reasoning of the Flori-dunces.
To: tellw
I'm thinking the Dems will magnanimously offer to reimburse the counties to gain brownie points with the taxpayers. Would that be allowed?
