President Bush met with congressional leaders today to asks that they pass the Terrorism Insurance Agreement by Friday. Bush stressed the need to pass the measure so that 300,000 people could get back to work on $15.5 billion worth of projects that are on hold because of no insurance. The President also made it crystal clear that although an Iraqi inspection agreement is a step in the right direction, the Biden/Lugar resolution is just not strong enough. Meanwhile, First Lady Laura Bush was in Florida today to help promote reading. This evening, she is attending a fund-raiser for her brother-in-law, Jeb. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

What a smart network to recognize so many people out there hungry for balanced news coverage. And I think Brit Hume is the best news anchor around - a total class act.

They have no morals, no ethics and no integrity! Never have and never will. Pure losers!

I once had a patient who was in the hospital. He had open heart surgery and was in the post op days. One morning I walked in and he said he was worried about his circulation b/c his feet were blue. At first glance it was a shocker to see such blue feet. On closer inspection it was the dye from his slippers. We all laughed!!! Silly people.

Well, sometime during the nineties we lost the right to go about our day without having some obnoxious Hollywood diva force her self-righteous opinions down our throats.
...but I don't think that's what you meant.

This is a great picture of our first lady
I saw Laura on C_Span's Book Notes this past Sunday and I couldn't help but notice what a class act this beautiful woman is. We are blessed to have George & Laura Bush representing our Country

Oh, DEFINITELY, prayers for your safety.
Do you have to do the boarding up the windows bit?
Do you have someone to stay with if you have to evacuate?

Thanks everyone for a GREAT welcome!!
Our President makes the x42 seem more sappy everyday!!

You've certainly got my prayers ..... you and a whole lot of other people down that way!
My nephew recently moved to a town just west of New Orleans ...... they've gotten word that there will be a mandatory evacuation at 6:00 in the morning. It's possible that the slight westward tilt later today has changed that but I doubt it ...... though they stayed high and dry, houses just down the street from them had flooding from Izzy ..... overspill from Lake Ponchartrain. Since this storm is much stronger and the ground is already saturated, we are really concerned about Lili.

Your computer woes inspire a new strategy. Instead of hammering the computer companies and ISP's every time it takes 2.2 years for a website to download, let's just pen a quick letter to Gore. His office will be flooded in paper in no time!

Great pics rintnes. The President looks a little tired to me tonight. Laura looks wonderful.

I thought we already had a ban on assault weapons. Or was that just fully automatic ones? Remember Clinton's big crime bill. Wasn't there a ban in that one?

I bet the reason he looks tired is that he doesn't sleep well when Laura is away.
