A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 10/1/02

President Bush met with congressional leaders today to asks that they pass the Terrorism Insurance Agreement by Friday. Bush stressed the need to pass the measure so that 300,000 people could get back to work on $15.5 billion worth of projects that are on hold because of no insurance. The President also made it crystal clear that although an Iraqi inspection agreement is a step in the right direction, the Biden/Lugar resolution is just not strong enough. Meanwhile, First Lady Laura Bush was in Florida today to help promote reading. This evening, she is attending a fund-raiser for her brother-in-law, Jeb. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

True that SCOTUS normally wouldn't touch what's going on in NJ, but this affects the absentee ballots sent to the military. If they change the name on the ballot, the votes of any NJ military who are on duty somewhere other than NJ, will be disenfranchised as the Torricelli ballots will be no good. Ballots of the military would fall under federal laws.

Also did you see the article about two of the NJ SC justices being Torricelli donors?

Good evening everybody. Would appreciate prayers this way. We will more than likely be evacuating tomorrow due to Hurricane Lili. Fortunately, for us, it will probably hit just to our east, but still very close. Schools are already closing and we are anticipating the worst. Hopefully no one else on the dose is in the path. We would really appreciate all prayers for a very uneventful storm. Thank you in advance.

Did you see the story on Babs lastnight? She had about a billion dollars worth of diamonds around her neck and was complaining about the Republican party being the 'rich' party. Does she really think Americans are this stupid?? She makes me crazy.I was really surprised not to see Baldwins name among the attendees of this psycho drama.

You are MOST welcome. Pull up a chair, put your feet on the coffee table, and enjoy.

"FOX News has just announced that Newt Gingrich has signed a contract with
FOX and will be a regular contributor to the FOX news channel :-)"

WHOA!!!!! I wonder if they'll refer to it as a, "Contract with America."

I need your help, brother in FReep. I am talking to a friend and we have been discussing whether or not the second ammendment would be harmed if say...assault weapons were banned. I say that it would start us down the slippery slope of losing our right to bear arms.

She says "The whole 'don't give the government an inch or they'll take a mile' doesn't seem to ever happen".

Anybody want to weigh in here?

I need some examples where we Americans have lost our rights in recent times. Help!

Yeah, I saw that. I also saw her "poor me, I'm really a spelling bee champion, the Republicans fight dirty, it was my stupid minion's fault" little diatribe on her website. She is such a freakazoid.
