I might add that give that the Dems have already filed papers today in the court, it was clear someone was writing this little petition up BEFORE Torch said he decided to quit, and probably before the idea even popped into his brain late last night. Curious.

No, it's just strong arming. "Bobby, you pull out or we'll file extortion charges based on that 7-11 video" (that Howlin described).

Well, when you have policy meetings in the back room of a club with "Girls, Girls, Girls" on the marquee, it's hard to hold your concentration, I suppose.

Policy meetings at the Bada Bing club.....

Torch misspoke. McGreevy corrected him. He should have said the NJ Supreme court.

This will devolve into a rehash of Florida, further bashing of unelected courts deciding elections, and arguing our case will be touchy. The media will never point out how the New Jersey democrats caused the whole mess by trying to skirt legality in order to manipulate an election

This is just unbelieveable. They are circumventing the law to save that seat.

They are TRYING to circumvent the law to save that seat. Just like in FLA 2000. These people are unbelievable. And VERY dangerous.

I just figured out who his replacement will be.
It's Hillary because;

1) Her a$$ is big enough to fill two seats.
2) Even though it's not legal, since when did the law and common sense matter to the Dems or Clintons. She will be the super senator from NY and NJ. The Dems will love it.

I mean will we know who the candidate will be before then?

Gee, perhaps they could just put

A Candidate To Be Named at A Later Date"

on the ballot.

Listening to Torricelli go on about himself reminded me
of the narcissist who insinuated himself into the Oval
Office in 1992. It's all about them.

This is just the prelude. He will resign in two weeks and the Gov. will try to cancel the election

I'm was wondering if you are right and that was to be the strategy. But after hearing that speech, I think he won't resign because his EGO is too big.

He can't do that! So if you're losing so badly in the polls that you're gonna be bent over in the election, you can just throw up your hands and "abdicate?" This ain't the freakin' British Crown!

ROFL!!! Good argument!

What evil, legal-defying court travesty scheme do have they hatched now???

No, this is a desperate "bait and switch" to save a Senate seat. This is a "bait and switch" campaign by the Democrats!

The New Jersey Supreme Court is as solidly Republican as the Florida Supreme Court is Democratic. We have nothing to worry about.

See http://www.judiciary.state.nj.us/supreme/index.htm for details.

That's it - Case closed!! I can't imagine anybody, even in the lamestream media, spinning this . Do they really think the people of New Jersey are that obtuse???

I suspect we're about to find out.

He did it to 'save the Senate" from us, you know. GOOD GAWD!

A Candidate To Be Named at A Later Date

I think technically it has to contain a name. "Anybody but Forrester" does contain a name, so I think that's what they'll put on the ballots.

Exactly. As I posted earlier, they may win the battle in NJ, but lose the war in other Senate races. We only need to swing a small percentage. The key is to keep the disgusted swing voters from staying home. The DNC wants it bloody and messy.

But we've got to get ahead of their propoganda and frame it as a forfeiting and attempt to change the laws, rather than what the DNC will do and claim that the GOP is trying to prevent the voters from having a choice. It is Torricelli who is depriving NJ of a choice.
