au revoir mon cher Angelique
A heavy heart

au revoir mon cher AngeliqueI have the truly sad and unenviable task of reporting the loss of a gentle lamb, and fierce patriot, our own dear girl, Angelique.
Simple words cannot express the profound loss I feel. To say I have lost one of my closest and dearest friends would be to betray my own feelings, I adored this girl. Her warm sweet childlike voice, contrasted with her signature feisty repartee, and unbridled humor made her a one-of-a-kind treasure. Her combative defense of her deeply held convictions, crossed many a sword with the best of her friends including yours truly, and her few if any enemies. She was a model Mother, daughter, sister, friend, patriotic American, Franco-American and staunch defender of the principals of a Free Republic, and above all FreeRepublic itself. Angelique said what she believed, with straight talk, a savvy humor and wit, but at times with a velvet sledgehammer ....tears, that was our darling French pastry.
Pray for our sweet girl, as I will, in hopes that she has found comfort and peace in His waiting arms.
pour toujours, mon cher Angel, with love......... Carlo

Thank you for those kind words. My heartfelt sympathy is with you during this time of grief. I am sure that she and I have spoken. Can I do a search of her posts, by her name?

Angelique was a fighter, always first to wade into the fray. A great loss for conservatism, and an even greater one for you, my friend. She loved your fight, and your positions on most subjects, if she didn't...you would have heard about it...LOL

Although I never knew her, she sounds like a remarkable person. She will surely be missed.

Yes... carlo... I knew she loved many of us in Freeperdom. She dubbed me the Waspman and kept needlin me to "Sting 'Em," and stuff like that. What a person!!! She always liked my 3 "!!!" (stingers)
She, LadyX and Billie were my first three contacts on FR. I was kinda roudy and she and LadyX used to corner me in the FR Post Office and explain things to me on proper FR manners and to show proper respect for Billie as the "Queen Mum" of FR. I could see quickly they were right as Billie is so loved for her talent and dignity.
I had recently lost my bid for re-election and was so low and bored and depressed that her guidance led me to learn to love the people of FR, along with LadyX. Your recipie threads were a gas and as you know, I love to "cut-up" and push the envelope with silliness, at times. She seemed to enjoy it all and was so forgiving, except when I would call her "Angeleak!"
There is so much I don't know about her and I wish I knew if she suffered alone in loneliness. It just breaks my heart to even try to think about it. The last I knew, she had gotten hurt and was recuperating. Didn't she have anyone to minister to her in her last days? If not, she surely deserved better!
Her humor lit up an extremely dark and lonely period in the Waspman's life and I grieve for the woman if she was lonely as loneliness can surely destroy the best of people. I'm assuming she was as she was not discovered rapidly. To me this is sadder than the death of Chief Negotiator, our mutual friend who may have been murdered as far as I know.
I grieve for the rest of you too, as I know this horrible news has darkened your day as it has mine. I shan't forget the Angelic One, but I know there is another Cherub around the throne of God speaking her romantic language right into His ear. This is my prayer for her as I loved what I knew of her... very dearly!!!

Wow. I'm very sorry to hear this- didn't know she was sick. It's always sad to see a FReeper go. May Angelique rest in peace and may her family find comfort and strength to deal with what must be a big loss to them.

I'm very sorry to hear this. I used to like to yank her chain on all the "French surrender monkey" threads, just to see her come back with both barrels. She rarely really lost her temper, but she never failed to defend the French.

There is one really good thing we could do in memory of Angelique.
Every FReeper knows people who think the way that we do, but don't take the time to register and vote.
Bring our lost brothers and sisters to the polls. SHAME them into it if you have to, but get them to VOTE.
Angelique is standing right next to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, right now.
Let's do it the way the founding fathers planned. Crush the left with votes!

Someday I Will Lead The Parade After all my lonely nights
Without an end in sight
A morning shining bright for me awaits
Where the sweetest times will last
All's forgiven from the past
Someday I will
One day I know I will
Someday I will lead the parade
Though they've scattered through the years
Old friends will gather near
With nothing but the kindest words to say
And the sweetest times will last
All's forgiven from the past
Someday I will
One day I know I will
Someday I will lead the parade
And the sweetest times will last
All's forgiven from the past
Someday I will lead the parade

Sad! Truly sad! It was great fun mock-jousting with Angelique on a thread about the many problems of
The Carrier de Gaulle.

I was wondering why the skies were dreary today.
Arizona lost one of its own.
