au revoir mon cher AngeliqueI have the truly sad and unenviable task of reporting the loss of a gentle lamb, and fierce patriot, our own dear girl, Angelique.
Simple words cannot express the profound loss I feel. To say I have lost one of my closest and dearest friends would be to betray my own feelings, I adored this girl. Her warm sweet childlike voice, contrasted with her signature feisty repartee, and unbridled humor made her a one-of-a-kind treasure. Her combative defense of her deeply held convictions, crossed many a sword with the best of her friends including yours truly, and her few if any enemies. She was a model Mother, daughter, sister, friend, patriotic American, Franco-American and staunch defender of the principals of a Free Republic, and above all FreeRepublic itself. Angelique said what she believed, with straight talk, a savvy humor and wit, but at times with a velvet sledgehammer ....tears, that was our darling French pastry.
Pray for our sweet girl, as I will, in hopes that she has found comfort and peace in His waiting arms.
pour toujours, mon cher Angel, with love......... Carlo
"I am loath to close. We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battle-field, and patriot grave, to every living heart and hearth-stone, all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature."
Abraham Lincoln, First Inaugural Address, Washington, D.C., March 4, 1861
I know her friends like you, will keep her memory alive here and in our hearts.
What a treasure..Thank you Paul, she really admired your opinions and friendship..Thank you so much.
"May the Father of peace send His peace to those that mourn,
and comfort to the berieved."
Amen, and ahmein...
One could be entertained for hours just watching the two of them spar.
I am so sorry for the loss of your dear friend. She was a delight.
She kept her pain to herself until it was too late to help her. She gave everyone time to tell her their problems, but never told us her own demons...she was stronger than everyone else...what a loss... bless her heart and soul.
Angelique could fight for hours on one subject, then someone else on another thread would ring her bell on another, and bingo.. she was off to battle again. I've watch her argue for 12 hours, standing her ground, calling and asking me to research something, and taking and giving until everyone was exhausted... what a girl!
You were an ally!! The falls, Grayout Davis, corruption in the country, anything in Northern Calif., boy scouts, ..etc
Sheesh, the topics were endless..so much crime, so little time...Who will pick up the ball, take on the crooks, stamp out all those fires.... Hands please, let her see a show of hands..I have a list...tears again..
How prophetic... I can't seem to close all of these windows and doors that made up this complex situation, this charming munchkin and our sensational, somewhat strange, and at times strained relationship. You could not know her and be drawn into her sphere of influence, or her infectious fairy like charm... you might call her ...well.... angelic
