I am making a prediction here that Saddam will shortly announce to the world that his sleeper cells have been instructed to release their WMD in strategic locations throughout the world if he is harmed or arrested.
This line of thinking fits in perfectly with the divide and conquer theory. He knows that this will give the Democrats the perfect excuse not to go after him, and we'll have another divided country just like in the Viet Nam War.
I can't tell you what's going to happen after that. I just know that there will be some serious ass-kicking.

Many of the democrats against action now, were almost killed on 9/11 if not for Flight 93 action...
I don't think they'll change.

Pretty close. The Middle Eastern culture/mind submits to superior power...for a time. They are very patient people who will wait for a more opportune time to take their vengence. Does anyone think that Quaddafi has forgotten what we did to him? Saddam will submit to inspections and try to hide his weapons. He will do everything in his power to stall for time. He will continue to try to destroy us without leaving his own fingerprints on the damage. I pray he does give us an excuse to take him out, but I think he will bargain his way around it.

Anyone else have any predictions on how our war against Iraq will play out? When he was a kid, he got caught stealing chickens. He was told to return the chickens, but when he did, they were dead. (That's a story I read years ago, I assume it's true.) Same thing in the Gulf war, when he had to give back Kuwait, he tried to destroy their oil wells. I think you're right and he will try something. But the trouble is that if he is allowed to develop nuclear weapons, he would deploy them whether or not we remove him. So it's best to remove him now. I believe that even if he were allowed to stay in power and die of old age, his death-bed order would be to deploy whatever weapons he would have at that time, which would probably be nuclear weapons, and he would deploy it against us. So it's better to remove him now rather than later.

Doubt it. That would trigger a U.S. nuclear strike.

I remember when the build up to the Gulf War was going on. Saddam was on television almost every day predicted death and destruction of American forces. My son was in the army in Saudia Arabia, and I remember the news reports about the "elite Republican Guard" troops who had the power to lay waste to our troops. My son's unit ended up in an artillery battle with these so-called elite troops, and when it was over it was the Iraqis who were wiped out, not us! My point is, you can expect Saddam to make terrible threats when cornered because that's what he did last time. And like last time, the threats will be empty. Keep in mind that Saddam, like most criminal sociopaths, is willing to kill others but is NOT willing to die himself. Therefore, he is unlikely to do anything that will guarantee his own destruction.

You're saying what I suggested earlier, and that this is a very high-stakes poker game. We really don't know what he is capable of doing, but do we take the chance now.
I say, hell yeah, because if we wait any longer, we only know it will be worse; which is one thing the liberals can't understand. It will be much easier to take him out (to quote an old phrase) sooner rather than later; because the more time he has to develop more of an arsenal, the more ability he will have to blackmail.

"...the Dems would howl, tuck tail, and run like hell."
No doubt.

>If Saddam has sleeper cells with WMD distributed around the world, then he'd want to use this "doomsday" threat before hostilities are launched.
He already sent his threat. It was in the form of a letter to Daschel, Gephardt and some media HQs. The FBI had trouble reading the return address and think Steven Hatfil sent it.

"Let's hope one of his generals takes him out."
It could be his privates that take him out. Viagra is, after all, responsible for many uprisings.

Ever hear of an executive order and theaterwide
tactical nuclear warheads?

Saddam wouldn't do something like that. Does he look like the kind of dictator that would gas his own people or set another country's oil wells on fire when driven out?[sarcasm]
