US Gives Moussaoui Classified Documents by Mistake

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. government gave 48 classified documents to accused Sept. 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui by mistake in what the judge in his case called a grave security breach, according to court records released on Thursday.

The classified documents, which were FBI summaries of interviews, then had to be retrieved during several days of searches of Moussaoui's jail cell in Alexandria, Virginia, where he is being held in solitary confinement awaiting trial.

The classified documents were given to Moussaoui, the only person charged in the United States for the hijacked plane attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, by mistake over the past few months as part of the evidence turned over to him by federal government prosecutors.

Moussaoui, who is acting as his own lawyer, is not allowed to see classified documents. A Justice Department official said the government was "quite confident" that Moussaoui never read the documents.

U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema, who is presiding over the case, cited the gravity of the security breach in ordering the material to be retrieved.

The 'intelligence' community couldn't get laid in TJ with a badge, a gun, and a fistfull of C-notes - on a friday night.

If you have any doubt ask the ghosts of 3000 Americans.

The Fumbling, Bumbling, Idiots are STILL more concerned with 'hate crimes' against those who are openly, PUBLICALLY sworn to our destruction than they are to protecting the Constitution, our country, or indigenous Americans.

If you aren't pissed off now and ready to make a difference - then when - after a nuke? After a pox distribution?

When?

Yep, these guys are real competent. Listen, if it's alright with everyone else here, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the first thing I would've done if I was POTUS was fire every head of every agency who was charged with protecting us from terrorism or gathering intelligence about terrorist operations that may occur on our soil or against our citizens (you know like running planes into our buildings).

Apparently, our current POTUS can't seem to bring himself to do that.

"Apparently, our current POTUS can't seem to bring himself to do that."

They are all Da Buush's buddies - morally correct Christians who couldn't find the cheeks of their a$$ with both hands - on a dark night - if you held the flash light.

Government workers, ya see... It takes them at least three days to figure out which end of the key to stick in the lock.

don't forget, they also have to check with their union reps to make certain it is covered under their contracts, and if not - they have to re-negotiate the contract before they can proceed.

Well ACCEPT it or BELIEVE it - but know in your heart that it is A$$craft's fault - he lacks leadership, he lacks organizational skills, he lacks guts -

but there are many who need none of these attributes in an AG - as long as he is a moral Christian and that's sick.

"Pentagon emails war plan to Saddam by mistake"

More like the State Dept, and it probably wouldn't be by mistake.

As I sit here thinking about this, this is now the lead story on CBS radio news on the hour(midnight here)...Didn't see the on-the-hour update on Fox, but it's probably there, too.

These were FBI summaries of interviews (apparently 48)- some on diskette--and were turned over to him by federal government prosecutors over the past few months.

The first story was written on September 7 and attributed to "several legal sources, including one at the Justice Department". It doesn't seem to have gotten much attention--at least I never heard about it on any newscast.

Now, 3 weeks and no publicity later, the judge, aware of this very serious breach of security, decides to release the records to reporters?

Looks like yet another monumental FBI f*ckup! I don't know who to be more concerned about, the terrorists or the FBI. What miserable perfomance of their duties. At least, for the time being, I can still protect myself.

And one more point. Why in God's name is our government giving this evil monster a civil/criminal trial? What a bunch of bull sh*t. Their original instincts were correct: military tribunal. I would only add: one appeal, follwed by death by hanging by the entrails of a freshly slaughtered sow. What we have now is one more price being paid for liberalism.

Sounds like a good way to get some disinformation out to the bad guys.

I wouldn't put any money on that idea. I don't think he's allowed to talk with any of the bad guys.

I work with a bunch of bureaucrats, most aren't paid to think. If someone makes a request, that request gets into the PROCESS. Unless a thinking person intervenes in the process, the request is granted.

The problem with bureaucracy is, if you get too many thinking people involved in the process nothing happens. The thinkers will just cancel each other out. If you get too few thinking people involved in the process, everything happens. There's not enough people to cancel out unthinking stupidity.

Uh, ineptitude was the by-word of the Klintoon administration. Those guys were always losing stuff that was supposedly secure. Now it seems to be continuing here. Hopefully President Bush can get his Homeland Security plan in place and get rid of "ineptituders." M

Maybe the constant turf battles among the CIA, FBI and local law enforcement re 911 aren't far off the mark considering this latest act of sheer stupidity. Seems the FBI has another major screwup added to their list.
