The gov's entourage was a despicable display of pomposity, looking down on the unwashed masses. Unwashed masses - that's us, the FReepers. They didn't even slow down for Impeach98! Go, Simon!!! For victory & freedom!!!

YUP.... that's the Gov's Protective SUV force!
I've been the lone voice on what Coward Davis did to our neigborhoods when he became Governor. One of his first acts was to take all our CHP/POP officers off the street and have them reassigned to HIS protection detail.
Sacramento police, in spite of $60million in Clinton COPS bribes, saw patrol reduced from 341 officers when Clinton took office and liar Venegas became chief, to fewer than 200 this year. The Traffic Division was stripped at the same time, from 90+ officers to 15 this year.
CHP officers used to come to the Bunker and help us with specific community policing projects that often involved state properties in our hood.
See, we don't have enough street cops as it is... so those two or three extra bodies made a huge difference. I once spotted three armed robbery suspects running up my street... I took chase, calling it in to Sac PD... they had no officers available. I'm not about to take on three possibly armed suspects alone... as I was about to give up the pursuit, I spot a CHP cruiser heading my way. It was two POP guys I knew from the hood. I yelled, "these three... fresh 211 downtown"!!! In a matter of seconds, the three knife bearing robbers were on the ground at gunpoint and cuffed.
That Davis worried so much about his personal safety in Sacramento, and he felt compelled to double his protective detail, flys in the face of all the lies about crime being down in the Clinton years. The biggest liar in the bunch is Chief Arturo Venegas who just got his ass whipped in his desire to become top cop with LAPD. What goes around, comes around. He and his little commie pals are all whining about how unfair his outting by street cops was.
I hope former Philadelphia Police Commissioner John Timoney gets the job. He was the only top cop in America to expose the truth. While sucking up to Clinton before John came on board, Philadelphia posted record reductions in crime. John pulled all the calls for service and found crime had risen for those three years... withdrew the false data sent to the FBI and fired all involved. I was only able to get one news station in town to report that story along with my claim that Venegas was up to the same mischief. The Chief complained to the Mayor and City Council that I was a vigilante and conspiring with old cops who didn't like him.
From yesterday Sac Bee: "David Topaz, Sacramento Police Officers Association president, said ... the union had already communicated its dislike for Venegas.
It sent Hahn a letter that blames Venegas for low morale, a double-digit rise in crime, the loss of federal and state lawsuits and other failings.
"In good conscience, we cannot professionally or personally recommend Arturo Venegas for LAPD police chief or for any police chief position," the letter concludes.
Topaz called Venegas a "carbon copy" of Parks, who was denied a second five-year term as chief because of his failings.
Topaz said the Sacramento officers union, which has often feuded with Venegas, wants to get rid of the chief but doesn't want to "pass our problems" on to another department."
Topaz must be a vigilati too....

Ernest...
Had the Govmobile hit Joe it's wouldn't have counted and Joe would likely have been hauled off to jail along with the rest of us.
Now, if a Republican Gov hit a union or farmworker demonstrator... that would make national headlines. The CHP driver would be suspended and there would be prayer vigils and protests.
That said... the CHP driver swerved in the nick of time, a credit to his/her training... that, plus the swift side-stepping Joe! :) It was way to fast for this old fart to get a picture of.
