A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day...09-19-02

A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues;  salute
and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new
word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.  I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Dutchy holding Registered's sign at a
George W. Bush rally in West Hartford, CT.

There is such a variety of FReeper personalities here on Free Republic. It would not be a stretch to say that the Free Republic family is as diverse as the general public-at-large. For example, some FReepers are very visible, vocal and outgoing while others “talk softly, but carry a big stick.” FReeper “Dutchy” falls into the latter category.
Although his member profile page states differently, Dutchy first discovered Free Republic in September of 1998. At that time, he had to “surf the ‘Net” from the local public library. He ended up setting up his profile at a later date.
The end of 1998 was a busy time. Dutchy attended the "March for Justice" at the Washington Monument on October 31, 1998 and, in his words, “I was pleased to meet JimRob and Cal as well as Drudge and Ann Coulter.” He also attended the Rally for Impeachment on The Capital steps on December 6, 1998.

Dutchy in action. From November, 2000,
holding “WORLD SERIES IN DOUBT,”
a sign created by Doctor Raoul. Translation:
The NY Mets should get to play another game
because they MEANT to win, just like the
Dems MEANT to vote for Algore.
Dutchy had the opportunity to attend the FReeper Inauguration Ball on January 20, 2001, where he and RaceBannon assisted with security and crowd control.
Dutchy and N.Y.Muggs. Dutchy is holding
an award given to the N.Y. Freepers.
Dutchy is also very active volunteering in local political campaigns at all levels.

Pictured above as well as below,
are Dutchy and FRiends stumping for the election
of “Mayor Mary” of Newburgh, NY and “Lazio for Senate.”

Dutchy has also been very active in the NY/NJ/CT Tri-State Chapter and has attended numerous FReeps/Rallies. He was instrumental in organizing two "Stop Illegal Immigrant Amnesty" FReeps in NYC in August 2001 and this past Spring. His profile page contains just one line that says it all: “A conservative army of one, deep within the People’s Republic of N.Y.”
Dutchy looks forward to January 2003 when, in his words, “The GOP will regain the majority in both houses of Congress and will work with President Bush to establish a Conservative legislative agenda.” Yes, it is certainly a treat to be in the company of such an optimistic FReeper!
For those of you that have not been fortunate enough to have already met him, I am proud to introduce.......
** Dutchy **
"One of Free Republic’s Finest!"

~ dansangel ~

Thanks, dansangel, for a great write-up, and Dutchy, thanks for being one of our Finest FReepers! I don't know if you remember, but I used your photo in a thread last spring around Easter, called The Boys of FR (Part I....Hat Tricks). At the time FR still supported "mouseovers", and if you held your mouse over the group of FReepers in hats, the graphic changed to FReeperettes in Easter Bonnets. (Sigh! Those days of javascripts and embedded music are long gone!) It's nice to 'see' you again, Dutchy, and hope your day is fantastic! ~ Billie

What is this a conspiracy? I finish photographing 21 high school seniors and find I am being ganged up on.

Mama_Bear . . . where do you want to go? I guess that Pippin is buying! :-)

Hi muggs!

Thanks for dropping in! If you happen to "see" the guest of honor, please tell him his presence is requested! LOL

Meanwhile, I'm off for the night. Got to prepare for another big day at that four-letter word place...W-O-R-K.

HOWDY EVERYBODY!!!!!! I was just thinking!

What a beautiful attitlude!! Is there any way to spread that around?

Maybe long needle injections to a chosen few.

Keep it with you, when you share as you do, it is motivational, hopefully for all who read your posts. Thank you!

Hi all. I have not had a good day. After the farrier left, I fed my mom's horse lunch and then went shopping for a bit. When I returned home a couple hours later he seemed ok, but after I put the car in the garage I noticed he was lying down in a new place. Something just seemed wrong. When I checked on him he couldn't get up - and then panic set in. He was trying to get up, then stretching out on his side and grimacing, stretching out his neck.

I finally got a vet down to the house and a couple of my parent's friends who have horses stayed with me until he vet arrived - which was a blessing.

Taylor (the horse) has colic (wy we don't know) and he was fed mineral oil and water through a tube into his stomach. I have to go back out and walk him in a while. He seems much better now, but all I can say is I am exhausted - I was so worried my mom's horse would be dead when she and my dad returned from their trip (tomorrow!)

I'd have a glass of wine but I have a headache. Anyway, your greetings were welcome - and I may be back this evening when all calms down a bit. You know, at least when you have a cat or dog you can pick them up and take them into an emergency room - horses require waiting for assistance. It's nervewracking!

I am so sorry to hear about the horse. It's heartbreaking to see a good animal suffer. I pray that the horse will be alright. Just take a warm bath and relax if you can.
