A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 9/18/02

Posted on 09/18/2002 7:41:48 PM PDT by rintense
President Bush began the day by meeting with senior members of Congress, who later announced that there will be a resolution regarding Iraq before the elections. Bush then met with a group of cancer survivors, including Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong, and announced an increase in cancer research funding. The President also met with Czech Republic President Vaclav Havel. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Here is a good article about what Israeli's think of George W. Bush
Israelis Singing Bush's Praises
Here is a few quotes from the article
"Yitzchak Holtzman of Tel Aviv voiced typical Israeli sentiment when he told The Jewish Press, Finally there is a courageous American president who understands how one has to deal with the likes of Saddam Hussein. I think he has to get rid of him once and for all and replace his regime."
" Prominent Tel Aviv attorney Mordechai Tzivin echoed Holtzman, saying that he was very pleased with Bushs performance. Finally there is a true undaunted leader of the free world,"
"What impresses me most about Bush is that he sincerely believes in principles; he has a strong sense of right and wrong, and in his view Israel is in the right. In the past, you got the feeling that American presidents said whatever was politically advantageous," she told The Jewish Press. "You dont get that sense with Bush."

I don't know a lot about furniture, but I'll bet there are good reproductions out there. Not sure if the beautiful chairs Bush and Cheney are using are James Monroe-era or what they're called, but this photo is captioned with "Chippendale style Gainsborough Armchair
The webpage calls these Hepplewhite style
I am attracted to this style, too, but have no idea if it is French or English in origin or what to call it or anything. I just know I like it!

I see what you mean about Havel's height. Look at the 2nd picture posted at #17, you can see the good size heel on his shoe. LOL

I just wish W wouldn't have consulted with the UN. Seems those b***ards have W in a corner! I'm stilling waiting for W to pull the ACE from his sleeve. Now I'm wondering if he ever had one. :( HOW IN THE world do you solve this dilemma the administration has gotten themselves into...thanks to BLAIR! Who btw insisted we go FIRST to the UN hell hole and gain their support! Can anyone here explain this more clearly to me! One thing I know for sure is that satan himself is calling the shots at the UN!

Azerbaijan / Afghanistan...whatever. It's still about a little friendship between Russia and US, and a pipeline and oil. Yep, if Vlad plays his cards right, Miss Marple will be right...Vlad will do alright by his people, and they can start finding out what true capitalism is all about ;-) Let's hear it for prosperity!

It is not going to cut it with Dubya at all. He already said we would go it alone if necessary. He is sending wording for a resolution to Congress tomorrow. Dubya is not messing around. If the UN won't do their job, he will do it for them. This will officially make the UN irrelevant. Who will pay any intention to them when they know they do nothing to enforce their own resolutions. What a waste. Time for the US to leave the United Nitwits.

He didn't
consult with them. He patiently explained to them how irrelevant they have been, passing one ignored resolution after the other, and invited them to follow us if they wanted to become relevant.
Their choice (as if they were competent to make a decision ...).

I hope they read our thread and tell him how proud we are of him. --Oh...and tell him that I wore his Mom's pearls on TV the night of the election! ... There were many people that were jumping up and down backstage that night...so happy when they announced he'd won.... Tell him that I swung open the sliding glass doors in our PA townhouse and turned up the volume and played "Ode to Joy" right after W was sworn in. I was soooo happy! Nord, you are such a special Dose friend! It's posters like you that MAKE the Dose what it is!

Did you know it is being reported in the UK that the letter from Iraq says that the UN can inspect only military sites, not schools or hospitals (which is where he's going to hide the stuff - I'm guessing). Sooooo, I guess Kofi LIED about the inspections being UNCONDITIONAL!!! Interesting ...??

You are right, I saw the speach I should know better than to accuse our BELOVED president of consulting with the devil himself. It was a brilliant speech! I just wish w would slap them back into submission. I can dream can't I?! Slapping myself silly :)

GREAT post! I want to print that out, laminate it, and put in in my car window! --It's a triple, too! Triples really work well to sell something. I had "We will not tire, We will not falter, We will not fail," on my car for so long!
I LIKE yours!!!

"one year"
Are they high or something?? In a few months he will have at least 3 nuke missles ready to fly. We can't wait one year; we really can't.
GW will not wait a year. If he doesn't get their approval, he will go without them. As usual, the US comes to the rescue of the world. Oh well, we're more than up to it, and fortunately, it's not difficult!!

I didn't know about the body girls. Any results yet?And I have lost twenty pounds and am at my goal! I am just so excited.
I do plan to keep coming to meetings though. I hope that's ok with everybody!
I do have to say this, without such a wonderful support group, I would have never lost all of that weight. These Bush Babes in the Bod-a-thon are great help!
To: CyberAnt
Some on the other thread are supposing that this is just a trial balloon to see what the reaction will be. Of course, the US won't go for it as Bush, Powell, Cheney, and Rumsfeld have all said it should be a matter of days or weeks, not months, let alone a frickin' year! Grrrrrr.

Thanks for the info. A friend of mine looked it up in her book on chairs, or some such thing, and we determined that they are Chippendale chairs of some sort. I have found some that are close to it but not quite. I just love those in the W's office.

I usually figure lying is knowingly telling a lie. I don't think he knew. He probably read the letter and all, but was so taken by the chance to bring World Peace, that he didn't realize it was just a promise (from Saddam, so meaningingless anyway) to allow inspections of the 1% of the Iraq land guaranteed to have no weapons of mass murder - visible military sites.
But if the one year U.N. resolution that's being reported is passed, then this is icing on the cake. It makes them so totally irrelevant that any pretense they are involved will be lost.
