[history]
Participants in this month's Congressional Black Caucus conference say the defeat of two black House members in bitter primaries not only suggests a widening rift with Jewish Democrats, but trouble within the Democratic Party itself.
"People were talking retaliation," said Ron Walters, the director of the African American Leadership Institute at the University of Maryland, of last week's CBC events in Washington. "They were saying [presidential hopeful] Sen. Joe Lieberman is dead in the water, and so on and so forth."

Walters said their defeats were payback from the wealthy Jewish lobby. I thought it would be seen as one special interest defeating another special interest. That's the way the Democrats play politics, isn't it?
"When you unseat two black candidates, it's not a freak thing, it's a strategy. It took black candidates by surprise, and it's made them very angry," he said.
So now it's racist to vote against a black candidate?
"Why the leadership of the party didn't do anything, that's the big mystery."
You're kidding me, right? Everyone knows that the Democrats have been taking African-Americans for granted forever, and aren't about to tinker with a sure thing.

I have always found it useful to ask about any modern person whose morality I suspect: what would this person have done had he or she been a German during the Holocaust? Many so-called black leaders on the left are so virulently anti-Semitic that I can easily imagine them wearing swastika armbands and goosestepping their way to power, or inciting the mobs to smash the windows of the shops of Jewish merchants during Krystallnacht. So why are the Jews still generally and reflexively Dems? If I may generalize, because they remember a different Republican party, one that was proudly anti-Semitic itself; because they perceive "minority rights" as key to survival as a minority; because they associate Republicans with an aggressive Protestant evangelicalism which will not be happy until all Jews have been converted. Point 1 is no longer valid; while we are not saints, I don't think anti-Semitism is tolerated very much in the party. Point 2 is a point on which Dems and Republicans fundamentally differ. Point 3 has much merit; many conservative Protestants would like their Jewish friends to join them in church as well as in business or on the golf course. This is not a hostile attitude, but perhaps just as frightening for a minority struggling to maintain an identity in the face of rampant interfaith marriage.

I love Mel Brooks. I've probably laughed more over Mel's movies than any other producer/director I can think of. My favorites: "The History of the World", followed by "Blazing Saddles" and "Young Frankenstein". "Dracula" was good too.
Sorry all, I realize this takes the thread a little off course. :O)

I don't think the black Muslims in the America WANT anyone to know what they REALLY think. It woulldn't go over well on Main Street, USA. Ergo the silenceHate to say it, but you may be right. Black American Muslims have come out against Islamic Jihad with the same furor that NOW pursued Clinton for sexual predation. Their silence is beggining to "speak so much louder than their words".
Worse, the only thing I can recall is the anti-Americanism they displayed during the "Reparations Now" march in DC. Not good.

"Ive never understood the Jews alliance to the left."
My thoughts are that over the years (thousands of years) people on the "right", facists, monarchists, have tried to wipe the Jews out. This sort of history breeds a certain reaction in a people. For Jews it makes them knee jerk leftists. The French will always fear Germans, Koreans will always fear Japanese, etc.

We need to put posters of the Dems using this quote all over the big cities in Florida, New York, and California.

Political observers say McKinney was the only one to blame for her own defeat. She alienated the Democratic Jewish community after Sept. 11 when she slammed former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani for returning a $10 million check to a Saudi prince who had linked the attacks to America's Mideast policy. McKinney wrote the prince a letter criticizing Giuliani and asking for the money back to give to poor black communities. Unfortunately, hand-outs have not helped the Black Community for some time now.

It also depends, greatly, when and from where their Jewish ancestors emmigrated to the USA from. The Jews, who came prior to the 20th century, and their descendenst , for the most part, have been / are Republicans. Those, who came from Poland and Russia, later, came with MARXIST feelings and taught their children and grandchildren to think the same way. Of course, nothing is 100 %; however, this is also a major factor in Jews' ( as a group ) voting records.

This is such good news.
When dismantling a multiheaded hydra like the RAT party, it must be done one head at a time.
Incrementalism...the ONLY strategy that works.

I have an ongoing "struggle" at home. FR is a great release for me, since my wife is liberal-to-moderate in most issues. Oh no..it must be a living hell.
Y'all should seek counseling ;-)

Fred Turner, a spokesman for Rep. Alcee Hastings, D-Fla., said his boss "has been talking to his colleagues, both black and Jewish, to make things better. We have to remind people that there is quite a bit of shared history between the two groups."Something about the slave trade?
To: gargoyle
..Democrates are fracturing their own party. RATs are nothing but an amalgum of fractures.
The trick is to figure out what solvent to use to loosen the glue.

Studies have shown that Jews are inherently less likely to become Republicans than are Catholics so this movement of Jews toward the Republican Party is a major sea change. At one point, decades ago, blacks were Republican-leaning. Jews never have been. The major questions remain how this might effect turnout this November and how long the Jewish community will stay loyal to the party of W. They will support W as long as they see Israel as being threatened, then will go back to supporting Socialism with the Dems as soon as Saddaam and Arafat are put away

Just read that Alcee Hastings was threatening Jeb Bush to do something 'his' way or he'd be calling him a racist, bigot, etc. etc. Well, that's what the dems do so I do hope Jeb Bush does the right thing and the hatred coming from the black racists is ignored.
