NAPLES, Florida (CNN) --The Georgia woman who prompted Friday's terror scare was "flat-out lying" when she told authorities she overheard three Muslim men at a restaurant laughing about September 11 and making suspicious comments, one of the men said late Friday.

"They are Americans afterall? Correct...that was my understanding."

Two of the three are naturalized citizens. The other is on a visa.

Anyone who has ever had Arabs in their class knows that most of them have absolutely no compuction about lying and cheating. To quite Gibbon, who was describing someone who clawed his way to become head of the Eastern Roman Empire, "He was born an Arab and therefore at one time in his life was a thief."

I hate to have to bring this up, but you can only deport one of them. Apparently, the other two are citizens and can't be deported.

They're all citizens. from the article:

Gheith, a Palestinian born in Jordan, is a naturalized U.S. citizen who now lives in Chicago, Illinois. Butt was also born in Jordan and is a naturalized U.S. citizen living in Chicago. Choudhary was born in Detroit, Michigan, and now lives in the Kansas City, Missouri, area.

Were they give so much as even a ticket for the tollbooth?

I never said they were cooperative. I said the media first reported they were no cooperative then reported that they were.

re post#458: You said, "Cops lie all the time if it serves their purpose. They usually even admit to that."

That is the most ignorant and biased statement I have seen here on FR in quite some time.

I'm sure that poor woman is feeling very low today. Is there any way to contact her via email. I think it would be beneficial to her to see the kinds of discussions that we are having here about this.

The fact that they found no voilations of any kind would be consistent with a premeditated hoax, if it was a hoax

Normally, the fact that no violations were found would be construed as consistent with innocence.

One of the men said they told the police that no they did not want their car searched. Sorry but if that is not being cooperative then arrest us all.

You seem to be taking these guys' words as absolute truth. The suspect said that's the only way he was being "uncooperative." How do you know that's true?

Because the authorities later said they were cooperative. Doesn't that mean anything?

"They story was untrue. The plates were not stolen. The same media that reported this "fact" also reported the "fact" about them joking."

I also heard one of the law enforcement officials at one of the press briefings yesterday SAY that at least one of the plates did not match the vehicle. It was later explained exactly what vehicle it did match. It was never explained how the tag that clearly matched a specific vehicle ended up on that car. I think that overlooking this fact is part of some decision to let these people go. I think it is highly suspect that they suddenly "discovered" that they were wrong about the tag.

Normally, the fact that no violations were found would be construed as consistent with innocence.

Normally, that's true. However, given 9/11 and Eunice Stone's statements (in which she admitted that maybe she was getting her chain yanked), suspicions were raised.

Sorry these boys were inconvenienced, but maybe they've learned a valuable lesson.

What about that "man they met at a rest area, where upon they did a reverse direction, following him to a private location where they could get some rest and food." How weird is that? Contacts already in the area.

Lawyer hired by CAIR ?

You could set your clock to the Muslims response to this.

Instead of doing the right thing, and apoligizing to the woman, and commending her for doing the right thing; they are doing the Muslim thing. The Muslim thing is to deny any trace of guilt, and attack the accuser.

The scarey thing is that Muslims understand political correctness better than most Americans. They will use PC as a tool against us, to silence anyone who dares stand up to them.

I think the woman who reported them should get an award from Homeland Security, and her actions should be encouraged.

They didn't suddenly discover anything. Like all profeesional law enforcement people they acted on a tip (as they should have). They then spent the better part of the day checking out the evidence. It was found that the evidence was absent and they let the men go.

However, during the course of the investigation someone told the media that the plates were stolen and they blew through the toll booth. The fact that the media put this stuff on the air doesn't make the investigators wrong for subsequently reporting the facts correctly.

It does make a case for not jumping to conclusions based on media reports. A case can also be made that if the subsequent facts fail to support your original conclusion, it might be time to reconsider your position.

"Where are all the future American docs?"

LIkely working as auto mechanics and burger slingers because they went to public school and didn't receive a good enough education to even get into college, let alone medical school. That, and I'm sure many of those who are college educated were victims of diversity selection.

As I said before if they were yanking her chain, the jokes on them and they got what they learned.
