I just watched this and thought that it was very well done. The President looked great and was inspiring. I get angry with him from time to time because of the way he's let the left get by him...but all in all he's a helluva guy and I'm damned glad he's our President.

I haven't watched this yet, I have it on tape. I want to thank you for posting this. It is one of the best articles I read today..... And I want to emphasize this...
The staff wanted to add a declaration of war but Mr. Bush didnt think the American people wanted to hear it that night and he was emphatic about that.
Mr. President! You really under-estimate the will of the American People. I really wish that you did add a declaration of war... and I still hope you do now.
It is Justified!

Presidents can't declare war (I think).

I am watching the show right now, and taping it to keep. This man is a good man, and he clearly feels his destiny is to fight the good fight.
This is revealing the reasons for his cross country flight before returning to the WH at the SS's behest. I didn't question the decision then, nor do I now. I don't think most American's did. It was always a media concern. The real people understood.

To give the devil his due, so to speak, I thought CBS did a fine job with this program. Of course, they'd have to run a million or so such pieces to make up for the left-biased "news" over the last few decades.
I haven't watched all of the 9/11 documentaries and retrospectives, but there's a glaring omission in those I have seen. Among the most enduring images of this event to my mind were the jubilant celebrations in the streets of Kabul, Amman, Baghdad, hell, Detroit for all I know -- wherever significant populations of Islamics were present, it seemed. I, for one, will never forget the delight these crowds (many of which consisted largely of women with their faces veiled, trilling that weird, high-pitched "lalalalalala" thing that sounds like a cross between laughter and gagging) as they rejoiced in the deaths of 3,000+ innocent Americans.
I wonder what happened to all that old footage. Seems to me to be a concerted effort to put Islam in the best possible light for American audiences, not unlike the decision of my alma mater to require incoming freshmen to read a book about the Q'ran. Curious.
