opened 90 minutes late because poll workers didn't realize they were supposed to turn on machines themselves.Hello? Anybody home?
This is scary.

Chads not an issue this time. No punch card machines in the state after the 2000 election fiasco.

Will they be consistent or will they stick to the law as written this time? The question is rhetorical, right?

You wait. They will find a way to blame Republicans. I was in a chat room that is frequented by both Republicans and left wingers and a
came in who did exactly that

Well then do a statistical extrapolation of what the vote would have been if the polls hadn't opened late and if some seniors that were planning to vote for her hadn't died. Reno should get 10,000 more votes at least.

Read to a Democrat; you have fed him information for a day.
Teach a Democrat to read; and you have fed him the NY Times for a lifetime.
Teach a Democrat to read and think; and you've made a Republican.

I vote in RI and the people at the tables handing out the ballots are well over 70. You actually had to walk around the table to find your own name on the list because they just couldn't see. They gave me a ballot for the Democrats, never looked for the big R next to my name. One yelled at the other one that this was the fifth time that had happened today. That means only 5 Republicans voted in my district.sigh

"It's deja vu all over again," said Democratic National Chairman Terry McAuliffe.Wow, that's a brilliant remark. Is there any other kind of deja vu?

It's a quote of Yogi Berra, who had a penchant for such expressions.
The New Flori-duh voting machine.

Any word yet on whether racist police offers were disenfranchising minority voters?

This would seem to indicate that it was the Democrat political machine that caused the Y2K Presidential election debacle.

I think you all (I am from Florida) should be ashamed of yourself. We don't want problems with elections! It undermines confidence and encourages fraud. I think we have a huge problem with election fraud in this country and I think it should be met with harsh prison terms after vigorous prosecution.
Like or not, we have a two party system here. They deserve to elect whatever idiot they like. As far as the Wookie is concerned, I don't blame her for not conceding. Many ballots in Miami-Dade have not been counted (the first time!). I think we should be upset that this happened, not happy. We need to step back and realize that elections are what we do instead of shooting each other. When you cheat the system or the system fails you, it undermines the sense of pride people take in the system. Jaded voters then rationalize behavior that should make them ashamed. This isn't a sporting event we are talking about here. If the rules don't work, how long before elections lose credibility? This situation is not the same as the Presidential election and we don't have to get even. That situation will _never_ happen again, just because the chances are so, so slim. Lets not do further damage here!
Besides, I would lay even money that the Wookie will pull it out, then get hammered by Bush. We can beat McBride too, but we should respect the selection _process_ of the Democrats, if not the person selected.
To: Redleg Duke
If you don't like how they vote in south Florida, you should see them drive.
